TEXT:

Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; 31. That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judea and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; 32: That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. 33: Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Col. 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Today I ponder leadership.

I believe in a God called leadership.

Leaders are not just made, many leaders are born leaders.

God chooses and calls leaders.

YET ONE MAN CAN NEVER ACCOMPLISH THE WORK OF GOD.

It takes a team effort.

I would like to help empower the team members to

know how to stand behind GOD’S MAN.

Let’s ponder holding up the man and rod of God.

1. A real leader cannot be a hireling.

John 10:12 But he that is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep. 13. The hireling flees, because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep.

What is the difference in a God shepherd and a

hireling? ...

MOTIVE, one that works and performs menial or

dubious action for profit or popularity

rather than principle and the word of God.

2. There are standards to HOLD UP and to HOLD HIGH.

Exodus 17:15. Moses knew the battle was the Lord’s and not his.

He built an altar to God, Jeehovah-nissi.

3. The work of God was team work.

Where each stands for the other and all stand for the Lord.

T-- together ** E--each ** A--accoplishes** M--more

A. Moses carried the leadership role, his hands

were, intercession before the people and God.

B. Joshua was the warrior, advancing the cause.

C. Joshua could never win without Moses standing in

intercession.

D. Joshua was a leader in training.

To be a good leader you should be in submission,

follow another.

4. To help lead, or to help the leader:

you must be in the right place at the right time.

Exodus 17:10 So Joshua did as Moses had commanded

him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and

HUR went to the top of the hill.

A. Many want to climb no hills,

they search for easy down hill efforts.

B. Aaron and HUR had to BE WITH MOSES.

5.THE LOAD OF LEADERSHIP GETS HEAVY WITHOUT PROPER SUPPORT.

Exodus 17:11 It came to pass, when Moses held up

his hand, that Israel won, and when he lowered his

hands Amalek won.

A. Physical hands get heavy and tired.

B. The load was much more than hands, it was

a spiritual battle.

6. THERE MUST BE SOMEONE TO SEE THE NEED, THEN DEVELOP A PLAN.

Exodus 17:12 But Moses hands were heavy; they took

a stone, and put it under him, and he sat there

upon; and Aaron and HUR STAYED UP HIS HANDS,

the one on one side and the other on the other

side; so Moses hands were steadied until the going

down of the sun.

A. The rock was not automatic, there had to be

someone to see the need.

B. The rock must have been heavy.

C. There was more than rock moving, Aaron and HUR

had to stand neath the sweating arm pits.

7. THE VICTORY DEPENDED UPON THE SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR THE MAN OF GOD.

A. Joshua did the foot work, Moses had to lift the

rod of the ministry.

B. Moses arms were tired, more than physical but

spiritual battle.

HOW CAN I LIFT THE MAN OF GOD’S ARMS? ? ? ?

Is there a Biblical plan?

Paul gives us a good prayer pattern to follow.

We need to teach others how to pray for our Christian leadership.

Please consider this.

Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

31. That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judea and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;

32: That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. 33: Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Col. 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

1. PRAY FOR UNITY.

Oneness, harmony, togetherness, continuity,

undivided, unified.

A. We need unity of purpose to thrive.

B. Remember the main thing is to keep the main

thing the main thing.

2. PRAY FOR DELIVERANCE.

Total victory, not one step forward two back;

liberation, rescue, set free.

A. Pray that the man of God will find personal and

family deliverance.

B. That God’s man will be an instrument of

deliverance to others.

3. PRAY FOR ACCEPTED BY THE SAINTS.

Willing to receive, assist, support, approval,

no protest, acceptable, help, aid,

to provide what is useful or necessary.

A. Do we find it strange that the acceptance is

not by sinners and the world, but the saints?

B. Overcome jealousy, popularity, competition, tear

down walls of division.

4. PRAY FOR LIVE IN DIVINE JOY.

Pleasure, delight, gladden.

Neh. 8:10... the joy of the Lord is our strength,

and we weaken without joy.

A. Have a sense of well being, to delight in God’s

work.

B. To focus on solutions and not obstacles and

problems.

C. To not tire of people and the circular pattern

people tend to follow.

D. To continue in the work we must have joy.

5. PRAY FOR LIVE IN DIVINE REFRESHMENT.

To restore, revive, renew, recycle.

A. We must guard against loosing our first love.

B. Find time alone, study and prepare.

C. Develop group of friends that know the duty to

hold up arms.

6. PRAY FOR DIVINE PEACE.

Freedom from disturbances, security, order, nothing

disquieting, end of hostilities, calm.

A. Divine peace is a gift of God. (John 14:27)

B. There is a peace that passes all

understanding... (Phil 4: 7)

7. PRAY FOR AN OPEN DOOR FOR MINISTRY.

A. We need all barriers to be torn down.

B. All locks and hindrances to be removed.

May God tear down every thing that restricts

His leaders.

C. May you never have to be put on a shelf, not

useable any more.

WOULD YOU VOLUNTEER TO BE A HELPER OF THE MAN OF GOD?

Pray these 7 points over the ministers that serve you and teach others this lesson.

His servant,
