TEXT:

Hebrews 12: 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, LET US LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT AND SIN WHICH DOTH SO EASILY BESET US, AND LET SO RUN WITH PATIENCE THE RACE THAT IS SET BEFORE US...

Mat. 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Luke 19:22 God says: Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee...

John 7:24 Judge not according to appearance....

Let us ponder Laying aside weight to attain victory.

This is the 7th in series of Weight to remove, text, Heb. 12:1

I. Remove the weight: Introduction

II. REMOVE THE WEIGHT OF SIN.

III. Remove the weight of no evaluation.

IV. Remove the weight: Blame Game.

V. Remove the weight of GREED.

VI. Remove the weight of JEALOUSY

VII. Remove the weight of Judgmentalism

I am wearing a backpack with 40 pounds of rock,

the first rock was labeled SIN. This rock is labeled Jealousy.

I have a friend remove the one rock from my backpack,

I have painted the word Jealousy on the rock.

I have SIN the biggest rock, it is a little larger than three fist,

the rest are little bigger than soft ball size.

I note my load is getting lighter as I remove the weights.

Today the 4th rock is removed.

I wear the back pack for the whole service, the load sure gets heavy.

EACH LESSON MY LOAD IS GETTING LIGHTER

AS I GIVE UP MY THIINKS THAT WEIGH ME DOWN.

WHAT COLOR ROBE DOES JESUS GIVE BELIEVERS?

White!

What color robe do judges wear?

Black

There might be a lesson here?

VI. REMOVE THE SPIRIT OF JUDGEMENTIALISM.

Who made you judge and jury?

A. LET’S SEE WHAT SOME WISE MEN SAY ABOUT JUDGING OTHERS?

You cannot judge only knowing one side, you need to see the whole. Euripides

You can’t fairly judge your own case. Publillius Syrus

Forbear to judge, for we are all sinners. Shakespeare

I said to my son, you are young, life has many lessons to learn.

Years will come and go, by time you will change and even reverse many of your present opinions.

So refrain from setting yourself up as a judge. Plato

You cannot judge a book by it’s cover.

B. HOW CAN YOU FOCUS ON ANOTHER’S SMALL THINGS?

Mat. 7:3 You see the splinter in your brothers eye, and you have a 2x4 in your eye?

5. Thou hypocrite, first cast your 2x4 out of your eye, then you can see their splinter better.

C. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHITEWASHED AND WASHED WHITE.

Jesus warned in Mat. 23: 25 of the danger of washing the outside of the cups and leaving dirt inside.

God can see the inner man.

God knows the MOTIVE.

To whitewash is to cover the dirt, to wash white is to remove the dirt.

You can but all the perfume you want on the dirty person, the smell will return.

D. JUDGMENT BY COMPARISON.

2 Cor.10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or COMPARE ourselves with some that commend themselves., AND COMPARING THEMSELVES AMONG THEMSELVES, ARE NOT WISE.

You are unique, one of a kind.

Don’t try to imitate others.

Don’t looks at others to decide how you are doing.

E. FOOLISHNESS OF USING OUTWARD APPEARANCES TO JUDGE.

Samuel looked at David older brother, this is surely the one God wants?

1 Sam. 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel. LOOK NOT ON HIS COUNTENANCE, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: FOR THE LORD SEETH NOT AS MAN SEETH; FOR MAN LOOKED ON THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE, BUT THE LORD LOOKETH ON THE HEART.

We have a Miss America and Mr. Universe search in the church.

There are some dangerous books out there, "Like God doesn’t want fat people...," God is searching hearts.

We have talent contest and send the loser home?

F. GOD WANTS TO BUST/SMASH THOSE CLIQUES.

Any large group is LIKELY to break up in smaller groups, and we know likes attract.

Then a terrible problems gives birth, CLIQUE... A NARROW EXCLUSIVE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS.

Romans 12:9 clearly warns: LET LOVE BE WITHOUT DISSIMULATION.... 10. Be kindly affectioned one to another...

We can separate by denomination, by race, by sex, by age, by salary,

by looks, by weight.

A good leader will constantly be trying to move the group around to keep the group a whole, not clan-dish or cliquish.

God wants us to be INCLUSIVE not exclusive.

G. I AM NOT LIKE THE OTHER...

Luke 18: 10-12 TWO MEN ARE PRAYING....one stands and prays thus TO HIMSELF... I thank God, that I AM NOT AS OTHER MEN...

The other says, God be merciful to me a sinner.

H. JUDGMENTAL: I AM THE ONLY ONE....

1 Kings 19: 16--18 The preacher cries out to God I am the ONLY ONE left serving you, everybody else has fallen or compromised. 18. The Lord tells THE ONE THAT THINKS HE IS THE ONLY ONE. One? I have 7,000 in one city that has never bowed or kissed another God.

J. DIFFERENT IS NOT BAD...

Jesus told His, there are other flocks than you.

There came a private war between John’s disciples and Jesus’.

Later there was a dispute that somebody better than you baptized me.

We need each other.

We must focus on agreement and likeness, more than how we differ.

Amos 3:3 how can two walk together unless they agree.

Quit looking and judging by hair, dress codes.

IF YOU ARE ROWING THE BOAT,

YOU DON’T HAVE TIME TO ROCK IT.

WE NEED EACH OTHER. THERE IS SPIRITUAL LIBERTY.

Hagar and her son, the bonds people seem to always judge Sarah and her son.

Quit it, let us love and allow God to sort the fishes.

If you go pulling the tares, be warned weak wheat will be killed.

God gives a white robe, you know Judges wear a black robe.

You are no judge, REST IN THE PROMISE.

While you are a fisher of men, you don’t clean the fish in the boat.

You wait until you are standing on solid ground.

Contrary to what you think --- you don’t know the whole picture.

God knows the heart. Have mercy.

His servant,
