The Wells of Salvation

Isaiah 12:1-6

Intro. Isaiah 12:1-6 (3)

-Vs. 3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of

the wells of salvation.

-The Wells of Salvation

-Wells in Israel were usually just a hole in a rock.

-Let’s see what we find when we drop our bucket into

the wells of salvation.

-We Must do it with Joy…vs 3.

1. Abundant Praise vs 1.

-Do you praise the Lord for your salvation?

-Praise in such a way that we hold nothing back.

-Abundant praise involves.

--Saying it -- Thou shalt say… Vs. 1,4

--Singing vs 5

--Shouting. Vs.

2. Amazing grace. Vs. 1

-God’s wrath was upon us

-By his grace his wrath was turned away.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

-Ephesians 2:1-10

-God’s grace can only be defined as AMAZING.

-Woman taken in adultery – “Neither do I condemn thee, go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11)

3. An Awareness of God’s presence.

-Vs. 2. I will trust and not be afraid.

-Psalm 23: 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

-Vs. 6 for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

-Matthew 28:20b “and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world”

-Psalm 139:8-11

-There was not one second of this week that God was not with us.

-We should not pray, “God be with us” when He has already promised His abiding presence.

-We need an awareness of His presence.

4. An Abiding strength.

-Vs. 2 the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength

-God give us strength to keep going when we feel like we can’t

-God give us strength to do things we things we cannot do.

-God gives of strength to endure whatever comes our way.

-God gives us strength to resist the Wicked One.

-It is God-given.

Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalms 18:32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

Psalms 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalms 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

5. An Atoning Sacrifice

Vs. 2 he also is become my salvation.

-1 John 1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

- Jesus laid down his life for us.

John 10:17b “I lay down my life, that I might take it again.18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

-God in the flesh…

-He gave Himself for our salvation.

-Abraham and Isaac.

-Gen 22: 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

-Jesus is our Atoning Sacrifice.

2 Corinthians 2:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Conclusion: In the wells of Salvation we find…

-Abundant Praise

-Amazing Grace

-Awareness of God’s presence

-Abiding strength

-Atoning sacrifice.
