Men’s Meeting 20 May 99

“ A MAN IS A SLAVE TO WHATEVER HAS MASTERED HIM........”

Sexual Sin (First time really teaching on this subject, so bear with me)

Many in this hour are spiritual slaves to the powers of lust, sex and perversions.

1. The powers of sex are totally taking over people in this hour

a. I would say this is a good subject for a men’s meeting

b. Christian men need to pay particular attention to these spirits, as to not be overcome by them.

c. Can ruin your life here on earth : spiritually, physically, mentally, etc.......

2. 2 Peter 2:19: .... For of whom a man is overcome , of the same is he brought in bondage.

a. In the world today their are a lot of people in bondage to the powers of sex.

b. Driven by sex devils, to the point of those powers taking over them even in their very will

2 Tim 2:26: And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

a. So these spirits even overcome the very will of the person.

b. The devil cannot take your will]

c. But he does have an influence over it if you let him Amen.

Romans 6:16: Know ye not , that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness.

1. Their is a such thing as spiritual bondage.

2. Sexual sin can be a bondage.

3. It drives people

3. First of all I believe that sex is suppose to be a Godly thing.

a. I believe it was created by God -Amen

b. He allows man a wife to participate in the creation of a new human being in which the Lord puts a human soul and spirit

c. Some people are brought up to believe that sex is “filthy” and that one should not think of those things or do those things.

d. But God is the Creator of sex. And to Him sex is not wrong or dirty.

1. When kept within the Biblical standards and principals.

4. But we live in a day where the word of God has been perverted in a lot of areas.

a. And this is one of the areas.

5. We must know that the engagement in sexual sin or habitual sexual sin is first and foremost a work of the flesh

Gal 5:19-21 says : Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which i tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

a. Demonic spirits, energize, provoke and work in these areas of the flesh to cause a person to be demonized.

b. The flesh must be put under the subjection of the spirit man and to the Word of God and the Holy Ghost.

c. The fleshy desires must be brought to the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ and crucified and buried- Amen

1. This cannot be done in our own power in some cases. The Word and the Holy Ghost must be involved in cooperation with our wills.

2. The believer can however exercise their will over most problems of the flesh.

a. But if the person seems unable to overcome the sin

b. falls back into the sin repeatedly,

c. Or does not desire to be free from the sin

THEN DEMONIC PRESENCE CAN BE SUSPECTED. AMEN

d. Oftentimes repeated deliverance sessions are needed

1. Especially if the person has been in bondage to a particular area for a long time.

5. But there is probably no other area in the life of a believer where he is more vulnerable to spiritual attack that the area of his or her sexuality.

a. As I mentioned before sex and sexual feelings are God-given for the purpose of expressing covenant relationship between a husband and wife.

6. The word says that our bodies are members of Christ and not for immorality.

1Cor 6:13 : Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body

1Cor 6:15: Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

a. This is emphasizing the holiness and sanctification that should even be made manifest in our sexuality

1Cor 3:16-17: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (17) If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

7. So God meant for us to be healthy and holy in our sexual relations

a. The word shows that the heterosexual relationship as the only relationship ordained by God.

b. It is ordained in the form of intercourse between a man a woman who are married

c. Outside the marriage such sexual behavior is referred to as “fornication”

a. Our young people today are being taught to use condoms rather than abstaining altogether, until marriage.

1. Evil is called good and good is called evil

1 Cor 6:18: FLEE FORNICATION. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

8. Our bodies are to be presented to God as a living sacrifice

Romans 6:13: Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

a. Sex should always be a natural act : meaning in the use that God intended versus an unnatural act

b. Heterosexual intercourse is the only natural act that I see that the Bible supports.- Amen

9. Such perversions as , oral and anal sex , which are considered to be sodomy are unnatural in the eyes of God

a. Other instances such as Bestiality(sex with animals)

b. incest and even masturbation

Masturbation is ungodly, whether done by a male or a female( it is unnatural according to the word of God.

1. One place in the word of God is termed “spilling the seed”

Gen 38:8-9: And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto (have sex)

thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to they brother. (9) And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. (10) An the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him also.

c. But in all the above mentioned the sexual organs are being used for that which they were neither intended, designed or ordained and are unnatural in the eyes of God

10. 2 Peter 2:2,9,10,18-21: warned of this stating that many people followed their own sensuality, indulge in their own flesh and speak evil of the truth

2Peter 2: 19-21: While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them that the beginning. (21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, that, after, they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment, delivered unto them. (22) But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; the the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

a. Paul also tells the church not to make any provision for the flesh and it’s lusts

Rom 13:14: But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

11. The appropriate New Testament definitions of SEXUAL SIN are as follows: harlotry, adultery, incest, being utterly unchaste, homosexuality, lesbianism, extramarital intercourse, premarital intercourse, sodomy; (oral and anal sex) . unlawful intercourse with the spouse of another; fornication; idolatry of sex, and masturbation (self-gratification)

1 Cor 6:9 (9) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, not idolaters, not adulterers, not effeminate, nor abuser of themselves with mankind.

12. Paul states the sexual sin is not only sin against the Lord, but sin against the body as well.

1Cor 6:18:reads: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

The person reaps the consequences of sin in his body

A person coming out of sexual sin or any other bondage for that matter must:

1. Keep a repentant heart (especially if drawn back)

2. repeated and frequent deliverance sessions as needed

3. Give the area totally to the Lord. Ask Him to put it to death on the Cross. Deal with the flesh

4. Guard your thought life

5. Guard the gates to the body : ear, eyes particuarly

Especially when;

a. in bookstores, changing television channels, among carnal people or unbelievers, watching mivies, reading books, magazines, or journals or newspapers

6. Stay away from situations or experiences that may arouse an interest in sexual sin.
