NOTABLE MIRACLES IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
"What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it." Acts 4:26.
I. THE CHRISTIAN SEES THE INVISIBLE
We see Christ in the Old Testament:
As Melchizedek: Genesis 14:19-20; Hebrews 7:1-3.
As the Angel of the Lord that appeared unto Hagar: Genesis 16:7-13;
unto Gideon: Judges 6:11-24; unto Manoah and his wife: Judges 13:2-22.
The fourth man in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:24-25).
We see evidences of God’s blessings everywhere:
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life"
We see good coming out of bad things:
"Nevertheless, the Lord your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves you." Deuteronomy 23:5.
II. THE CHRISTIAN BELIEVES THE UNBELIEVABLE
The world does not believe that all things work together for good…and for good reason! The promise is only to the Christian who walks in the will of God. The disobedient Christian has not scriptural claim to this great promise. Everything that happens to the dedicated Christian is divinely ordered. For the consecrated Christian there is no such thing as luck or chance.
"And we know…"
"…that all things work together for good…"
"…to those who love God…"
"…to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28.
III. THE CHRISTIAN ESCAPES THE INESCAPABLE
Some things are truly inescapable:
Sin: "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." I John 1:8,
Death: "For the wages of sin is death…"
Judgment: "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the
judgment." Hebrews 9:27.
But through Christ we escape the consequences of all three!
“O Death, where is thy sting?” O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” I Corinthians 15:55-57.
