[A] A consistent prayer life is a must.

*Battles are won in prayer

*Sin is conquered in prayer

*Discouragement is defeated in prayer

*Self is abased in prayer

*God is exalted in prayer

[B] When God is exalted, He will fulfill His plans for your life.

*He will place within your heart & mind a vision.

*This vision will drive you forward.

It will be your driving force!!

*Even when you fail in some of your efforts, you will get back

On your feet and dust yourself off and continue on.

Psalms 73:1-2 (KJV)

1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

Psalms 73:17 (KJV)

17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

Psalms 73:23-24 (KJV)

23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

Psalms 73:26 (KJV)

26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Psalms 73:28 (KJV)

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

What is David saying here?:

(1) Yes I have gone through some discouraging times,

(2) Yes, I have seen some times when it looked at first

glance like the enemy was winning.

(3) But I made a trip to God’s Sanctuary (The place of the Word)

and I knelt at God’s altar and He came through for me!!

(4) I have discovered that when I can go no further, He will take

me the rest of the way!

(5) I have found that in the areas where I am weak, He will be my

Strength!

(6) It pays to keep your eyes on Him and concentrate less on the

things going on around you!

(7) Keep your eyes on what God is doing, and not on what your

Enemy is doing!

[C] Retreat is never an option!

Example: Israel left Egypt headed for the Promise Land.

They should have gone immediately from Egypt into

Canaan.

But they got hung up in the wilderness!

There a whole generation of Israelites passed away!

(1) Don’t get tangled up in the wilderness!

(2) Go into God’s Promise Land that He has prepared for you!

II. Satan Doesn’t Want You To Succeed

Page 4 Jan. 26th 2003

[A] He will do everything and anything to hinder you.

(1) He will seek to hinder your spiritual development.

(2) He will seek to prevent your spiritual success.

[B] But once a child of God taste the VICTORY of God, (success)

he will never be the same

(1) He will continually long for victory.

(2) He will hunger for Spiritual success.

(3) He will fight the fight of faith.

(4) Retreat is no longer an option!!

[C] Satan wants you to fail. He wants you to go around;

feeling like a failure

thinking like a failure

acting like a failure

looking like a failure

praying like a failure

worshipping like a failure

praising like a failure

(1) He wants you to think and feel like you were destined by God

to fail.

Page 5 Jan. 26th, 2003 PM

III. But Who Cares What Satan Wants?

[A] I am much more concerned about what God wants!

[B] God wants you to feel, no, to know that He

created you!

(1) He created you after His own image;

*to live in peace and not despair

*to be the head and not the tail

*to be above and not beneath

*to obey His commandments and not the desires of Satan.

*to have an expected end.

(A glorious reunion with the one who made us)

(2) God wants you to feel like the champion you are! So;

*Think like a champion

*Act like a champion

*Pray like a champion

*Worship like a champion

*Praise like a champion

*Fight like a champion

*Testify like a champion

*Preach like a champion

*Sing like a champion

Page 6 Jan. 26th, 2003 PM

[C] Even when it looks like you are on the verge of defeat

(1) Even when you have just been dealt a powerful blow

(2) Don’t settle for being down & out

sick & tired

cast down & defeated

(3) Don’t allow yourself to get stuck in the wilderness!

(3) Rise up; go into the sanctuary, get a hold of the altar

and call upon the name of the All Mighty until Heaven moves

and Hell is shaken!

[D] As long as you seek the Lord, He will make you to prosper!

[E] God has plans to make you into a champion.

(1) If He can do it for a little 16 year old ruddy Shepard boy,

He can do it for you!

(2) You may be the Next David; “A Champion of champions”

[F] God Word Says: You are destined to win!

(1) In Spiritual conflicts

(2) In fleshly conflicts

(3) In Physical battles (Sickness and diseases)

(4) In Ministry Related Activities

Stand to your feet and pray this prayer with me now:

Dear Lord Jesus, I am your creation, I have been created after your likeness, I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath,

I will obey all of your commandments and I will not fall when tempted by Satan. I will live in peace, the peace that comes from knowing you oh Lord, the peace that comes in closeness, the peace that surpasses all understanding and I will have an expected end; life eternal, life in your presence for ever more.

Amen.
