Summary: It seems as though before you get out of one mess you find yourself in another. So what do you do when you get angry with God.

“When We Get ANGRY with God”

Psalms 34 : 15 – 22

People say that you can’t do that, they say he is God and you can’t get angry with him, that’s taboo, sac religious, and dangerous; however, we do it anyhow. We get angry with God.

For example: if someone, a love one, has been taken out of this life at a young age we question God on how and why he let that happen, When we see children being born in this world everyday, and before they can really take their first good breaths they have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, we begin to question God and say Lord how could you let this happen. When our lives are going the way we planned our dreams are coming true, you are doing what God said do and then all of a sudden it gets turned upside-down and you begin to see all of your dreams fading fast before your eyes you don’t understand what is happening so we get angry with God and begin to question him with why God did you allow what happened to happen.

We have the belief that happiness is a life of trouble-free living and because we have an incorrect perception of God when troubles come our way, we feel that God has failed or let us down because we are not happy with our current situation. We try to have God work within our expectations and when he does not meet our expectations and does not answer our prayers we get angry with him and begin to blame him for not listening and caring and not performing up to our own selfish expectations, but I find in the Bible in James 4:3 he says “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts". It’s not that God doesn’t care or that he’s not listening, but because we expect God to perform according to the wishes and expectations we have set forth in our own carnal minds and because of this we are caught in a negative feed-back loop. A negative feed-back loop is this, because we have the wrong concept of God and because he has not performed to our own selfish expectations we get angry with him causing our concept of him to fail, causing us to get angry with him, causing our concept of him to fail, causing us to get angry with him, it’s a continuous cycle of negative emotions

The perception that we have of God is one that is fleshly based (we believe that God desires us to be happy and since he desires us to be happy I will drive a Jaguar, live in a big house, have prestige and popularity, hold a leadership office in the church and the devil will never be on my back.) this is the concept and expectations we believe God to work in, but the Bible says happy is the man that suffer for righteousness (1 Peter 3:14) and happy is the man that endureth (James 5:11), never once does it say happy is the man that has it all together, why because it’s not an accurate concept of God. 1 Peter 4:12-13 says “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ suffering: that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy”.

We must understand that happiness or what we perceive to be happiness is conditional, as long as everything is going the way I want it to go I’m happy, but when I have joy in the Holy Ghost, regardless of my circumstances, I got a feeling everything is going to be alright, why because of my concept of who God is.

It is impossible to have an accurate concept of God in a fleshly realm, because an accurate concept of God is spiritually discerned not intellectually or physically ascertained. Once you spiritually discern the true concept of God and who God is in the spirit, your spirit will inform your mind (your intellect) and your mind will inform your body (your physical), but because we have the wrong concept of God when things make us unhappy and our lives are not going the way we want them to go we get angry with God.

Before I go on let me give the definition of angry: Angry according to the dictionary means” to have a strong feeling of displeasure”. It does not mean to give God a piece of your mind or to curse God out, that’s not angry that’s stupid, but to be angry is to have a strong feeling of displeasure and dissatisfaction. Now how many of you have ever gotten angry with God?

My situation: When I got angry with God. I was doing what God said do, I was reading my word, praying, going to church every-time the church doors were open, I was preaching his word, I had preached a message called “I’m still alive” in that message I said it doesn’t even matter if you loose your job, as long has you have breath in your body you got to PRAISE the Lord, after the service several people came to me and said that message was just what they needed, I remember one person saying “I have been going through and that message was for me it up-lifted me and encouraged me to continue to give God praise”, I said to God be the glory I am glad that I was the instrument that God used to encourage you always remember to give God the Praise. Some one else said I found a bill in my mail box and didn’t know how I was going to pay the bill, but I came to church and put my money in the offering and before service was out someone gave me some money, they said God told me to give this to you, it was just the amount I needed to pay my bill, I said when you give God praise he will take care of your needs, the next day, not even 24hours later I went to work and lost my job. I walked out that place giving God the Glory, because I was still alive, I said devil you will not get the victory, because my God is an awesome God and I’m still alive. 3 weeks later my bank account began to bottom out, I didn’t have money in my pocket, and I didn’t see any coming in any time soon. I was still going to church every time the doors were open, I was reading my word, I was praying and fasting, I didn’t have a job to go to so I was making the noon-day prayer everyday, but I began to get depressed and dissatisfied, I was feeling a strong feeling of displeasure and began to question God and ask him Lord Why and How come, I have been doing what you want me to do, I have been reading your word, I have been praying, I have been going to church, I have been doing what you want me to do,

I have been preaching your word and people have been being encouraged by what you have given me to give them, now I see my dreams fading fast, everything that I have been working for up to this point is falling apart, I had a ring in lay-a-way for Brenda, I owed $600.00 on it and I didn’t know how I was going to be able to get it out, Christmas was 3 weeks away and I have no job. I was angry with God and I began to question him, because he was not operating in the concept of my expectations and God began to speak to me and said Psalms 30: 5 “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” I said Lord I know the scripture, I know that joy cometh in the morning, but this is a long night when is the morning going to come. He took me to another scripture Psalms 34: 19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous:” I said Lord I know I’m afflicted right now, he took me to another scripture Luke 4: 18 “The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” I said Lord that’s me I’m the one that is bruised. He then took me to Isaiah 55: 8 - 9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” I said Lord I don’t understand, he said let me explain it to you in a manner that even you can understand.

He said before a new car can hit the market it has to go through what is called a crash test in order to prove it is worthy to carry passengers in it safely, he then brought back to my remembrance the commercial were they strap the crash-dummies in the car and run the car into the wall, the dummies get out of the car and say seat belts save lives, you see I have given you something and I have to send you through a crash test to insure that you are worthy to carry the precious cargo that I have given you, you have peoples souls in your hands and I need to insure that you can handle what I have given you safely. You see I had to let you go through some pain in order that you can tell someone that they can handle the pain they are going through. He then said to me you always quote the scripture Eph. 3: 20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you may ask or think according to the power that is within us”, but do you really understand what it is you are saying. I thought I did, but I really didn’t until he explained it to me. He said you say now unto me that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or think, right, I said yes Lord, he said but the next part says according to the power that worketh in you, you see I have given you the power, but in order for that power to manifest itself in you I had to allow you to go through some mess, you had to suffer a little because you have to be able to tell my people that God will pull you out if you can stand the pull, but you couldn’t do that until you first knew what it feels like to be pulled out of something yourself. The word Suffer comes from a Hebrew word called: “dioko,” it means to endure persecution; to undergo and bear trails, you had to go through some persecution in order to have the power, you had to go through some pain in-order for there to be any gain, you had suffer a while in-order to be proven worthy of being able to handle what I have given you. When I allowed what happen to you to happen it was for the building of your character.

Your character is the traits that form the nature of your person, your integrity, and your identity. You had to suffer the things you suffered because I had to build your identity so that when you go out to fight the devil, he want be able to say Jesus I know and Paul I know but who are you, but will see you and say here comes the man of God and with fear say man of God have you come to destroy us. You see I’m trying to build you up; I’m working on your identity but you couldn’t understand that, you couldn’t understand that it is only a crash test and you got angry with me.

The reason you get angry with me is because you are a sensuous people; you operate within the five (5) senses of human understanding Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste, and Smell.

So many times we talk about Faith and say that we have it, but as long as we can see a way out or as long as everything is operating within our 5 senses realm we have faith but as soon as you do not have sight of something you get angry with God, if you can’t touch the money you get angry with God because of the realm you are operating in. The Bible says that Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of thing not seen. What that means is the substance or the support, confidence, subsistence, and reality that God has everything under his control and the proof is in your endurance after you pass the test, you may not be able to see it now but just hold on. But because we are not operating in the faith realm we get angry with God and call God into question. You need to be operating with in the faith realm and not in the senses realm.

That’s why you get angry with God because you do not understand what he is doing in your life; you are operating in the wrong realm. God said before you started to go through your trial I knew it for I said my eyes are upon the righteous and before you cried out I heard you for my ears are open to your cry, but because you don’t understand what he is doing because you are sensuous people and not a Faith people you get angry with God, but instead of getting angry “having a strong feeling of displeasure” because you can’t understand my ways, don’t get angry with me get.

A.N.G.R.Y.

There are 5 letters in the word angry and when you do these 5 things you can get angry with God

A. Align yourself with God. To align you means to be in the proper position with God, to get on target. When you align your sight on a shotgun your are on target with the object you are aiming after. When you align yourself with God you are on target with God and will be able to hit the Mark for the Prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. When you align yourself with God you can have your steps ordered by God and be able to say like David “Yea though I walk through the valley….” For I am aligned properly with God.

N. Never stop praising God, no matter what it is you are going through just keep on praising God. For in the midst of your trial if you keep on praising God your deliverance will come. He is testing you to insure that you are able to do his will and are worthy to carry his precious cargo.

G. Give yourself totally committed unto God, 991/2 want do you got to give him 100%

R. Read your word

Y. Yield your members as instruments of righteousness unto him.

We must never let a trail or a period of suffering to go wasted, Paul said I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, there to be content, he may not be able to see his way out, he may have been troubled on every side, but because he was not operating in the sensuous realm but in the faith realm he knew how to get angry with God, he knew how to align himself, never stop praising God, give himself totally unto God, read his word, and yield his members unto God and because he knew this he knew how to be content with his situation.

When you do these things you have truly gotten angry with God he will open up the window of Heaven and begin to pour you out a blessing so great that you will not be able to receive it all, WHY because you got ANGRY with God.
