Subtopic: How to be B-L-E-S-S-E-D

It is God’s will that everybody be blessed. It does not matter who you are, God wants you to be blessed. It does not matter how young or how old you are, God wants you to be blessed. It does not matter what race, color, ethnic, or nationality background you may be, God wants you to be blessed. It does not matter what gender you are, it does not matter how much education or money you have, it does not matter if you are single, married, separated, widowed, or divorced, God wants you to be blessed. It does not matter what part of town you may be living in, God wants you to be blessed. It is not God’s will for you to be cursed, but it is God’s will for you to be blessed.

Now to be blessed by God, there are some things that we must do. And in this message, I want to share with you seven simple things that you should do if you want to be blessed by God, and I am going to use the letters for the word blessed to describe how you can be blessed by God:

1. The first thing that you should do if you want to be blessed by God is that you must Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, it means to rely on the Lord Jesus Christ, it means to hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, it means to have confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ, and it means to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. To receive your blessing from the God, you must believe on Christ because Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith, you cannot please Him, for He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” And also, in Psalms 37:3-4 it says, “Trust in the Lord and do good so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart” So if you want to be blessed by God, you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

2.The second thing that you must do if you want to be blessed by God, you must Live for Christ. Now, to live for Christ, you must be obey God’s commandments. To live for Christ, you must be a doer of God’s word. There are a lot of people today who think they can be blessed without being obedient to God’s word, but that is not true. If you want to be blessed by God, you must live for Christ by being obedient to God’s word.

Deuteronomy 28:1-3 says, And it shall come to pass, if thou shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blesses shalt thou be in the field.”

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth: but thou meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success.”

James 1:25 says, “But whoso looketh in to the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

Yes, to be blessed by God, you must live for Christ by being obedient and being a doer of God’s word. That is why it is so important that you be taught His word, that you read God’s word, that you study God’s word, that you memorize God’s word, and that you meditate on God’s word so you will be able to obey and do God’s word. You see, you can’t obey or do God’s word if you don’t know His word. And if you don’t know His word, then you won’t know what to do to be blessed. So, to be blessed, we need to know His word so we can do the word.

3. The third thing that we must do if you want to be blessed by God, you must Earnestly seek the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer. Everyday we ought to earnestly seek the Lord to be blessed because all of our blessings flows from the Lord, and He is the one who supplies our every need..

2nd Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

St. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

So, to be blessed by the Lord, you must seek the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer who is the source of all our blessings.

4.The fourth thing that we must do to be blessed by God we must Serve the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter how we serve the Lord, whether it be singing in the choir or being an usher, whether it be being a deacon or a preacher, whether it feeding the homeless, or visiting the sick, whatever you do for the Lord, do it from the heart with gladness and to the glory of God.

Psalm 100:1-2 says “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness, come before his presence with singing.”

Deuteronomy 10:12 says, “And now Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him,and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”

Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

5. The fifth thing that we must do if we want to be blessed by God is that we must Sing praises unto the Lord Jesus Christ. You may not be able to sing like angels, but if you got a voice and breath in your body, you still can sing praises to God You may not be able to sing like Arethea Franklin, Patti Labelle, Luther Vandross, Brain McNight, Usher, Monica, or Brandy, but if you got a voice, and breath in your body, you can still sing praises to our God because he is worthy to be praised, and when the praises of God goes up, blessings come down.

Psalm 81:1 says, “Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto God of Jacob.”

Psalm 95:6 says, “O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”

6. The sixth thing that you must do if you want to be blessed by God, you must Evangelize for Jesus Christ. To evangelize for Jesus Christ means to be a witness for Jesus Christ. It means to tell somebody about the goodness of the Lord. It means to tell somebody about the saving power of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from hand of the enemy.”

St. Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you always. Even unto the end of the world.”

7. The seventh and last thing that you must do if you want to be blessed by God, you must Dedicate your life to Jesus Christ. You must surrender your total self to the Lord if you want to be blessed by God.

Psalm 37:5 says, “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass.”

Romans 12:1-2 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,

and perfect, will of God.

Conclusion

To be blessed by God, you must come to know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. To know and have Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you must repent of your sins and turn to Jesus Christ by believing in Him as the Son of God who died for your sins on the cross, and rose from the dead with all power in his hands.
