THE MESSAGE

THANKS BE TO GOD WHO GIVES US THE VICTORY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

**************************************************************

1.INSPIRATION

God gives us the victory through our faith in Christ. Our faith and inspiration must be in God and this faith will overcome the obstacles and bring us the victory. We must not allow doubt and unbelief to rob us of our victory through Christ. In all the obstacles that we face we must continually draw inspiration and encouragement from the faithful promises of God and stand firm in our faith to experience victory in our lives.

2.INTERCESSION

God gives us the victory by pleading our cause . He is our mighty redeemer who will thoroughly plead on our behalf and give us the victory . The Lord Jesus Christ is interceding on our behalf. He is our Heavenly advocate who will plead on our behalf before the throne of Heaven . The Father would not deny the plea of His Son Jesus when He pleads on our behalf.

I John 2 :1

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

3.INTIMACY

God gives us the victory when we stay close to Him. We must maintain our intimacy and close relationship with God. As we stay at His right hand we will make our enemies our footstool. He will be with us and no one can overcome us. He will deliver us and honour us. Our intimacy with God helps us to experience victory in all our battles. The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are perfect towards Him.

Psalm 110 :1-4

The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."

The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies.

Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth.

The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."

Joshua 1:5

No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Psalm 91 : 14-16

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

II Chronicles 16 : 9

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war."

4.INVOCATION

God gives us the victory when we invoke His presence with our praise and worship . As we begin to praise and worship Him in the midst of our battles , God causes confusion in the enemy’s camp . His mighty presence fills us and we experience a mighty deliverance and victory . Our praise and worship is a two edged sword to destroy the enemy’s attacks. Jehoshaphat experienced a mighty victory through praise and worship . Paul and Silas experienced a great deliverance through praise and worship.

II Chronicles 20 : 20-24

Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful."

After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: "Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever."

As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

The men of Ammon and Moab rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.

Psalms 149 : 5-9

Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.

May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,

to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,

to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,

to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.

Acts 16 :25-26

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose.

5.INHERITANCE

God gives us the victory through the inheritance that He has given to us as His servants . He has promised that no weapon formed against us will prosper because this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is from Him. Victory is our inheritance and birthright given to us by God as we serve Him. We must claim our inheritance in every battle that we face . We must claim our victory as our birthright given to us by God. The Lord knows how to deliver the godly from temptation.

Isaiah 54 :17

no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

II Peter 2 : 9

if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.

6.INTERVENTION

God gives us the victory through His intervention . He will not be a silent spectator but will come to our defense and rescue and give us the victory. He intervened when people rose up in rebellion to build the tower of Babel and scattered them . We need not fear those who rise against us in their fleshly strength . We have our God to help us and fight our battles.

Genesis 11 : 1-9

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.

As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

They said to each other, "Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.

Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."

But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.

The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."

So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.

That is why it was called Babel —because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

II Chronicles 32 : 7-8

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him.

With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

Isaiah 49: 24-25

Can plunder be taken from warriors,or captives rescued from the fierce ?

But this is what the LORD says: "Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.

7.INDIGNATION

God gives us the victory through His indignation. He crushed the rebellion of Korah when he rose against Moses. His hand will be known towards His servants but His indignation towards His enemies. When God arises , his enemies will be scattered. The Lord will cause our enemies to be smitten before us and to flee in seven ways. His patience should not be mistaken as weakness or powerlessness. The Lord will rise up for us and smite our enemies. We should not take vengeance on anyone , but commit everything in the hands of God and He will grant us justice at the right time.

Isaiah 66 : 14

When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes.

Psalm 68 : 1-2

May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him.

As smoke is blown away by the wind, may you blow them away; as wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God.

Deutronomy 28 : 7

The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

Numbers 16 : 28-33

Then Moses said, "This is how you will know that the LORD has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea:

If these men die a natural death and experience only what usually happens to men, then the LORD has not sent me.

But if the LORD brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt."

As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart

and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, with their households and all Korah’s men and all their possessions.

They went down alive into the grave, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community

Romans 12 : 19 –21

Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord.

On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I Peter 2 : 23

When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
