Summary: Looking at the Gift of tongues and out of the body expierences. Part 1 of 3 parts.

Speaking in Tongues & Out of Body Experiences. Part 1 of 3 parts. How many times have you ever wondered about the Pentecostal experience of speaking in tongues? What are tongues and why speak in a language that very few understand? Most people that I’ve spoken to have been afraid of this gift. First things first, we have to look at the Scriptures, to prove that speaking in tongues is real. 1Co 13:1 though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1Co 14:6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? The book of Acts is the first place in which tongs were mentioned outright. Jesus spoke in tongs, yes, Jesus spoke in tongs. Jesus had all the spiritual

Gifts, without measure. The spiritual gifts have been ignored for so long that very few people can even teach them and their significants. Having just one verse in scripture that says something exists, makes it true. Tongues is a form of communications that allow any language to impart the gospel into another language. The heavenly language that is talked about so much is in essance, Pure Hebrew, Gods Language. Many will say now, how do you know that Hebrew is Gods language? We find it in scripture.

Zep 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. Who were these people and what language was God speaking of? The people of Israel and the language was His, Pure Hebrew. The key here is in the latter part of the verse,” that they may call upon the name of the Lord, to serve Him with ONE CONSENT.” The Hebrew language has gone over many changes in 2,000 years, many different dialects and contaminations. Today the Levi Tribe {Priest} have begun classes in pure Hebrew to teach all who wish to learn, accommodating prophecy. There are today people that say they speak in tongues, which actually don’t. Speaking in tongues is a gift from the Holy Spirit of God, but you must remember that it is the least gift. The Apostle Paul stated.

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. In the end days, tongues will cease, along with other gifts of the spirit; prophecy will be a gift that will be the cause of death to any one who uses it. It’s all gospel, its true.

1Co 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

Paul was saying, the gifts of the spirit are real; believe me when I tell you of them.

1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

1Co 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

1Co 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

1Co 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

1Co 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

1Co 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: Notice how Paul divides the gifts into many parts; this would make it easier to teach and to understand.

1Co 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. Paul, in this verse, gives the responsibility for the administration of the gifts to one, The Holy Spirit.

Here we learn about the place of Tongues in the body of Christ. 1Co 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

1Co 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.

1Co 12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? These verses here indicate that if tongues are the only gift that a person has, then he is as important as the rest of the body. The gift of tongues has been put down so much by ignorance and fear that there may be members in our body that have the gift but are afraid to use it. Tongues is not a language that cannot be found in this life, its all a matter of interpretation, it’s a sign to the believer, not the unbeliever. To say that it doesn’t exist, is to say that Gods word is a lie.

1Co 12:16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

1Co 12:17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

1Co 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. Here we see that God has interjected all the spiritual gifts into the body. Tongues, weather you believe in them or not doesn’t really matter, its God who gives us the knowledge and the choice weather to use it. Just because we are unaware or unbelieving in gifts doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. The Holy Spirit will not give a gift to anyone that refuses to believe in them.

1Co 12:19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

1Co 12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

1Co 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

1Co 12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

In verse 12: 22, this shows that we cannot ignore tongues as a gift any longer.

Tongues is not a language that cant be interpreted or understood, many who don’t understand what tongs are, have made it sound like an alien language that only angels can understand, and that far from the truth. 1Co 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

Here we learn that there should be no division in the body, because of the presence or absence of spiritual gifts. We are not to break ranks just because one of our members has been given the gift of tongues or any other gift. Believe it or not, there are Christians that do not believe in any of the gifts. Many churches are in the wrong when they teach that the gifts of the spirit were only for the early church. Cense God never changes, then why would He give gifts to men and take them away from others, He would not.

1Co 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

1Co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

1Co 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

1Co 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

1Co 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. End Part 1. Ars.

Next we will continue with tongues and out of the Body experience.
