1.THE LORD DELIVERS THE POOR AND NEEDY

The Lord delivers those who are in need and have no one to help them. The people of this world may ignore the poor and the needy . They may not respond to

the cry of the helpless . But the Lord has great compassion on those in need and have no one to help them . He will deliver them and show mercy to them.

For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.

Isaiah 25:4

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the

ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall

Psalm 34:6

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

Psalm 10:14

But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, To repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless.

Psalm 12:5

“Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will protect them from those who malign them.”

Psalm 35:10

My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.”

Psalm 109:31

For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save their lives from those who would condemn them.

Psalm 140:12

I know that the LORD secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.

2.THE LORD DELIVERS THE GODLY

The Lord delivers the godly from their trials and tribulations . The Lord knows the way to bring the godly out of their entanglements.Even if people who

desire to help us are unable to help us , the Lord knows how to deliver us . King Darius wanted to save Daniel from the lions den but was unable to do so.

But the Lord sent His angel and shut the mouth of the lions and saved Daniel in the lions den . The Lord also knows how to reserve the wicked until the Day

of Judgement to be punished . We should not despair if we do not know the way out of our troubles .We should commit the whole situation to the Lord because

He knows how to bring us out.

2 Peter 2:9

if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.

Daniel 6:14-22

When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him.

Then the men went as a group to King Darius and said to him, “Remember, Your Majesty, that according to the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or edict

that the king issues can be changed.”

So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually,

rescue you!”

A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel’s

situation might not be changed.

Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep.

At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den.

When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able

to rescue you from the lions?”

Daniel answered, “May the king live forever!

My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong

before you, Your Majesty.”

3.THE LORD DELIVERS THOSE WHO CONSIDER THE POOR

The Lord delivers those who have compassion on the poor and needy . Because they had mercy on those who suffer and went to their aid , the Lord remembers

these good deeds and comes to their rescue when they themselves are in great trouble . The Lord will preserve them and protect them from the evil attacks of

their enemies and heal them from their sicknesses . There is great blessing when we show mercy on those who suffer.

Psalm 41:1-3

Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the LORD delivers them in times of trouble.

The LORD protects and preserves them— they are counted among the blessed in the land— he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.

The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.

Psalm 18:25

With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;

Matthew 5:7

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Acts 10:2-4

He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.

One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!”

Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering

before God.

Hebrews 6:10

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Galatians 6:9-10

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Matthew 25:31-46

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the

creation of the world.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,

I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

4.THE LORD DELIVERS THOSE WHO LOVE HIM

The Lord delivers those who love Him. He will hear the cry of those who love Him and come to their rescue . He will deliver them and honour them and satisfy

them with long life . He will be with them when they face troubles and difficulties . He will not leave them alone or forsake them in their hour of need .

Psalms 91:14-16

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Psalm 42:1-2

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Matthew 22:35-40

One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Revelation 2:1-4

“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden

lampstands.

I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles

but are not, and have found them false.

You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.

1 Corinthians 2:9

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who

love him—

these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am

nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Matthew 6:1-4

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I

tell you, they have received their reward in full.

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

5.THE LORD DELIVERS THOSE WHO CALL ON HIM

The Lord delivers those who call on Him . In our hour of need we should run to the Lord first. We should call upon Him in the day of trouble . Sometimes

people run to their relatives or friends in times of trouble and get disappointed. Only after they have failed to get any help from others they go to the

Lord as their last resort. We must call on the Lord first in the day of trouble because He is our faithful friend in need.

Psalms 50:15

and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

Psalm 34:17

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

Psalm 147:10-11

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;

the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Hebrews 4:14-16

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did

not sin.

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

6.THE LORD DELIVERS THOSE WHOM HE HAS CHOSEN AND ANOINTED

The Lord delivers those whom He has chosen and anointed . When we are in the place where God has placed us we have His support and Protection in all the

difficulties and attacks that we face . God will not leave us alone to face the battles when we are in His will . He will deliver all whom He has chosen and

anointed.

Psalms 18:50

He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing love to his anointed, to David and to his descendants forever.

Psalm 20:6

Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.

Isaiah 43:1-3

But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by

name; you are mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire,

you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Isaiah 54:17

no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is

their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.

Romans 8:28-34

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding

for us.

7.THE LORD DELIVERS THE SEED OF THE RIGHTEOUS

The Lord delivers the seed of the righteous. The generation of the upright will be blessed. The Lord remembers those who walked righteously before Him and

will continue to show favour to their descendants . There is great blessing in walking uprightly before God which will continue to the generations to come.

Those who walk in righteousness before God leave behind God’s blessing upon their family which is far better than leaving behind wealth and riches .
