Summary: A simple message showing how God is our Judge, Lawgiver, King, and Saviour

The Lord is…

Isaiah 33:22

Intro.

First notice the Word LORD….Jehovah.

We are taking about the Creator

We are talking bout the Sustainer

I. The Lord is our Judge.

A.There is one thing you can count on…one day you will stand before the Judge to give an account for your life.

… for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of

Christ. (Romans 14:10)

B. There are two judgments in Scripture.

1. The Great White Throne Judgment.

-Revelation 20:11-15

-Only the lost will be there,

-There is only one verdict – guilty

-There is only one sentence – death.

2. The “Bema” seat of Christ.

-Only believers will be at the Bema seat.

-2 Corinthians 5:10

-Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give

account of himself to God.

-At this judgment, believers will receive reward and

crowns for what they did here on earth.

C.Either way, God is our judge, the judgment where you appear will depend on what you do with Christ today.

D. God is the judge.

-NOT YOU….

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

II. God is our lawgiver.

A.This is not a reference to the Old Testament Law.

B. But to the absolutes of right and wrong.

C. It is God who determines what is right and what is

wrong

-Not Government. There are some things that are

legal, but not right. (abortion)

-Not society.

-Not individuals deciding for themselves.

Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the

ways of death.

-God teaches us right from wrong in His Word.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,

for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

III. The Lord is our King.

-1 Timothy 6:13-16

-Revelation 19:16

-Jesus told Pilot…My kingdom is not of this world.

-This work in not our kingdom, we live for another.

-I think we need to learn about Kingdom living.

-I serve a King that reigns supreme.

-A king who is over all kings that ever ruled on this planet.

-King of kings…Lord of Lords.

IV. Our Lord will save us.

-Sin separated us from God, and death passed upon all

men.

-But God wanted us to be reconciled to Him.

-By His grace He sent his Son do die in our place.

(Plan of Salvation)

-Salvation if of the Lord.

-He will save us.
