Summary: Christians must make our voices heard

The Sin of Silence

60 seconds of silence!!!!!!!

(Luke 19:40) And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

We as Christians have been silent for far to long. Our country was founded on godly principles. Our founding fathers were godly men. Our nation was meant to be one nation under God. It is high time that we give back what is rightfully His in the first place.

We are all guilty of this sin. We fail to witness as we should. We fail to speak out when we see atrocities going on around us. We fail to speak up when our government starts passing laws saying it is ok to kill unborn and innocent children. ETC!!!!!!!! I could go on and on.

Even the early Christians had to be persecuted to get them to fulfill what Acts 1-8 commanded them to do.

(Acts 1:8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

(Acts 11:18) When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

(Acts 11:19) Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

(Acts 11:20) And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

And the silence continues on today.

Christians kept silent about the atrocities of WWII when Hitler was killing off the Jews.

The 40’s, 50’s, and early 60’s the majority of Americans were attending church. We thought everything was A OK, but Satan was in the process of lulling America to sleep. He clouded our vision and silenced our speech. Our government that was established by the people, of the people, and for the people was slowly changing before our eyes. We as Americans were gradually loosing control of our government. Laws started to be past that were contrary to God’s word. Decisions that were designed to be decided in God’s house, by God’s people, are now being decided by our government at the local, state, and national level. It all started to fall apart during the sixty’s by what I consider the turning point of society as we now know it in America today.

On June 25, l962, 39 million students were forbidden to do what they and their predecessors had been doing since the founding of our nation - publicly calling upon the name of the Lord at the beginning of each school day.

The prayer the Court objected to follows: Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country.

The removal of prayer from our schools was a violation of the third commandment which commands us "not to take the name of the Lord in vain." By the judicial act of forbidding invocation, the Court audaciously elevated a secularized system of education beyond the authority, reach and blessing of God Himself. Worse than taking the Lord’s sacred name in vain is treating it with contempt, denying it rightful place and stripping it from public use and even from the lips of children. Jesus’ own expressed desire, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them" was also violated by these judges, many of whom were raised in Christian homes.

After more than 25 years of severe moral decline is it not time to repent, reverence the name of the Lord, reinstitute and keep the third commandment?

Since the passage of this law that banned public prayer in school, America has been in a state of decline.

The unprecedented moral decline and social upheaval in the U.S.A.--

Since 1963, when prayer was taken out of school, unwed birth rates of 15-19 year-olds doubled. Pregnancies for girls 10-14 went up 553% since prayer was disallowed in school. (The separation of church and state.)

Divorce rates from 1963 to 1983 were up 117%. For fifteen years prior 1963, divorce had been declining.

Since 1963, single families were up 140%, single families with children with children were up 160%, and unmarried couples living together went up 353%.

From 1965, there was a sharp incline of gonorrhea in students in ages 15-19. It incline became since the removal of religious principles from school. Student STD¡¦s went up 228%.

When a people throw away their values, they reap the consequences Some of those consequences are crime, divorce, STD¡¦s, unwed mothers, and unmarried couples living together. There are more!

SAT scores approximate average was 970 points from 1952 to 1963. From 1963 to 1980 scores declined for eighteen consecutive years to drop to a low average of 890 points in 1980.

In 1974-75 the sharp decline in SAT scores slowed with the advent of private religious schools, which allowed religion in the curriculum. During this time, there were 32 thousand U.S. schools, which accounted for 8.5 million students.

Some say that the better scores of these students were because private schools had more money available for a better education for these students. This statement was investigated. It was found that private schools had, on average, $110.00 per student, whereas public schools had $370.52 per student. It is amazing what God can do with a few dollars.

SAT scores showed that students from the Christian private schools, on average, got 100 points higher, than the Non-Christian schooled students. That put the Christian schooled students back on the par where students were prior to 1963 and the separation of church and state. It was as if no change had occurred. Whereas public schooled student scores continued to declined!

In 1988 ¡V the number of Academic High Achievers were as follows :

39.2 % were from public schools

60.8% were from private schools ¡V This group was 2 times larger than those from the public schools. Remember too, that private religious schools had 1/3 less money per person and used the same curriculum as the public schools, except the private schools added religion.

Violent crimes went up 544% since religious principles were removed from schools in 1963. Thomas Jefferson said that religion is the friend to government because it teaches morals of the heart. This means we are not dealing with murder, instead we deal with the religious morals which say do not hate. When we eliminate hate there is no murder. The commandment to not lust, stops adultery or rape.

One of the agencies behind the support of these laws that have changed America is the ACLU. Here is a list of things that the ACLU openly supports and each of these is an abomination to our Lord.

"The ACLU has done more than any other single organization to drive our nation into the chaos and crime of this modern age. Yet they have the gall to stand up for criminals’ rights in the court". D. James Kennedy, pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian church, Ft Lauderdale FL.

(Isaiah 5:20) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

The decline of America should be obvious to any thinking American. The explosion of crime, gang warfare and drive-by shootings in our cities; the disintegration of the American family, with proliferating divorce, infidelity, child abuse, single parent families, and teenage rebellion; the explosion of drug usage (the highest in the world); the killing of 40 million babies in their mother’s wombs over 26 years; the rampant spread of promiscuity, graphy, , and sexually transmitted diseases; the dumbing down of American children in the public school system; high taxation; the ignoring of our Constitution; exploding governmental controls over every aspect of the American peoples’ lives; and gross immorality and corruption at the highest levels of the U.S. government are all irrefutable evidence of a country whose culture, morality, traditions, and spiritual life are in a free fall.

Other great nations and empires have risen and fallen throughout history (i.e., the Roman Empire; Israel before the Babylonian invasion and captivity in about 600 B.C.; Babylon; Assyria; the Persian Empire; the British Empire; Czarist Russia; pre-World War I Germany; more recently South Africa; and now America. In almost all of these cases, wicked men had risen to power; morality had plunged; traditional values had been ignored; the culture had disintegrated; and the people had forgotten God.

The second thing that I think has changed America and has contributed to its moral decline occurred on January 22nd, 1973.

On January 22, 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court overturned all state laws that protected children in the womb and then legalized the killing of children throughout the entire pregnancy. The aborting of babies was actually made a constitutional right by the Court. Today in America, there are doctors who specialize in killing full-term babies in the womb. America aborts a reported 1.6 million babies a year which means after 26 years over 40 million children have been killed in the womb.

Many abortions are not reported, so the real figure is probably higher. The figure is so large that it has become meaningless. Abortion is so ingrained in America that politicians, including the president, actually run for office proclaiming their pro-abortion position, and the people still elect them.

How Amoral Laws Came to Being

The founding fathers never wanted separation of church and state, yet 67% of US citizens today believe that that very idea is contained in the constitution, even though those words never appear in the constitution.

The Constitution of the United States¡¦ first amendment says, ¡§Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.¡¨ Pre-drafts of this statement clarifies the founding fathers constitutional statement. There were twelve variations, they all mirrored the sentiments found in this one, ¡§Congress will pass no laws making one denomination of Christians higher than another denomination.¡¨

Their intent was that they did not want in America what they had in Great Britain where one denomination was running the nation. They wanted God¡¦s principles, but did not want one designated church running the nation.

The Founders of the Constitution were Christians and they expected it would be so for their descendents. They stated, ¡¨The great vital and conservative element in our system is the belief of our people in the pure doctrine and divine truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.¡¨

Our courts used to use biblical guidelines to rule on the areas of the citizens, families, schools, and the nation. Not anymore! Before 1962, the courts said, ¡§We only allow divorce for six reasons. They are the six reasons God allows as written in the bible. God made the family (Adam¡¦s and Noah¡¦s) and so we have to use God¡¦s precepts/rules to govern the family.¡¨ After 1965 the courts said we were not to do so any more, because it causes psychological damage to children. George Washington stated, ¡§Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religions principle.¡¨

When the courts say something is unconstitutional, what they are saying is that this thing is something our founding fathers would have been opposed to and would not have allowed it! The court¡¦s findings do not reflect this.

Our people need internal constraints governed by God to keep our constitution working well. The greater number of our people are not and as a result, the constitution is not working!

(Jeremiah 6:16) Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

(Jeremiah 6:17) Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

(Jeremiah 6:18) Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.

(Jeremiah 6:19) Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

See what keeping silent will reap!!!!!! We Christians have been called the silent majority and they are definitely correct about that. We have been silent, but I say: Be Silent No More!!!!

The silent majority has been silent too long ... it is time the majority rules!

It’s time we tell them, you don’t have to pray, you don’t have to say the pledge of allegiance, you don’t have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right ... but by golly you are no longer going to take our rights away ... we are fighting back ... and we WILL WIN! After all, the God you have the right to denounce is on our side!

(Ecclesiastes 3:7) A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Now is the Time to Speak; Be Silent no More!!!!

(Isaiah 62:6) I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

Every Christian should be that watchman on the wall and we should be silent no more.

On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas as he was en route to deliver a speech. The speech he never gave concluded with these words.

We in this country, in this generation, are ¡X by destiny rather than choice ¡X the watchman on the wall of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of peace on earth, good will toward men. That must always be our goal. . . . For as was written long ago, ¡§Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.¡¨1

If godly people do not make it into office, God¡¦s principles do not make it into office. That is why Christians must be in office. Our government has been taken over by ungodly men. God-fearing Christians must take it back. We must get involved! Do something where you can affect people¡¦s principles.

We have lost our heritage. We must get Christianity back into government, our schools, and in our society!
