Summary: A small and simple explanation of what being born again is all about.

There are a number of belief systems in the world today, and naturally, they all claim to be “The Truth.”

So, if we define truth as being relative to things that change, then what is presented by any belief system has to be equal, in validity, to anything else presented. This would be so because if truth is attached to “changeable reality” then nothing remains eternal or unchangeable.

However; if we define truth as that “which is real” then truth becomes the foundation and the explanation of reality, not just a variable that is changed by it.

So, the point here is, that what you accept as truth (however it is defined) shapes what you are, how you act, how you think and how and why you decide to do or not to do any given thing under any given circumstance.

But know this also: What you believe is what you choose to believe. Therefore it is your own responsibility to yourself to seek out the truth, not just to accept ‘a’ or ‘any’ truth.

Here is where it gets very interesting.

Yahweh, Creator of all that is, has created in us the ability to recognize truth when we seek truth with an honest and contrite a heart.

When we decide that Yahweh is, He turns on, so to speak, our truth recognition systems. When we seek Yahweh and His truths, we will see and understand truth in a way that was not possible prior to that decision.

We are being bombarded with a multiplicity of belief systems which have at their core, the “rule” of applied ignorance: “Truth is relative.” But what truth is relative to, is never clearly stated...this is because, to make truth relative to anything is an absurd notion. To connect truth to anything outside of the absolutes that Yahweh has created is folly. It becomes the criterion for ignorance.

What the “truth is relative” crowd is trying for, is to change the focus of spiritual reality from Yahweh to man. In other words, if truth is only relative to Yahweh then He controls all truth...but if truth is relative and man makes the decision as to what relative means, then truth is customized to fit whatever circumstance man needs to have it fit, which puts man in charge of truth...not Yahweh. This belief system relegates Yahweh, in effect, to some inoperable role in this time. Ignorance run amok!

This system of belief also elevates man above Yahweh; defining truth and what it is relative to...which is idol worship of the ego of man. Ouch!

The Bible teaches us that Yahweh is not the author of confusion. If you are confused about the truth of your spiritual nature, or the nature of the Spiritual Reality that is Yahweh, it is because you have accepted, to some degree or another, conflicting “truths” into your own personal belief system and they constantly clash against reason.

Yahweh has said that we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. It is not Yahweh’s responsibility to decide what each of us believes. But He helps us by giving us some basic truths about Himself: He is truth; He is Love; He is the Way; He is Yahweh and there is none like Him.

In confusion, the battle of reason is always on. We all must whittle away those “false truths” so that we can see the pure truths that Yahweh says are His. He has given us the reasoning faculty to do this job...we must seek Him with a open heart determined to see and hear the truth and then to change our belief systems to accommodate what we learn from Him. It will change our lives when this decision is acted upon. This is what being born again is about.

Contrary to what other belief systems say about Christian faith being blind; it is not blind faith that works, but our faith is blind to what comes against the knowledge of Yahweh, for when someone elevates their ideas and opinions above what Yahweh says is true, we loose faith in Yahweh and begin to believe man...which is idol worship...self worship, which is foolish to contemplate.

Christian faith requires that we seek out the knowledge of Yahweh and that we make choices in our lives to believe Yahweh and what He has promised. Our faith works by acting on Yahweh’s promises as though they are present now...but knowledge of them is required before we can act on them. One can not use a tool for work unless one knows that the task requires a tool and how it should work to complete the task. Faith is that tool that Yahweh has given us to accomplish His will on earth; it is the tool that He has provided us to accomplish change in the world. But unless we know Yahweh and unless we learn what His will is, we don’t know the task and we don’t know how to use the tool to get it done. Our faith is not blind, it requires knowledge and decision and action. Faith is not passive and it is not weak. Faith in Yahweh replaces our puny strength with His strength. Faith replaces hope for something into the thing itself.

Paul defines hope in Hebrews 11:1 as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Some of the other versions translate the substance as “the assurance of things hoped for.”

Faith in this sense is not a mental exercise or a trick of the imagination, like some have taught. Faith is a spiritual decision. Faith takes from the heart that which is hoped for, the spirit prays the faith of the hope to Yahweh, and Yahweh answers faith by bringing what was hoped for in faith into reality, using the substance of Yahweh’s creation.

To know that Yahweh’s promises are always truth, we can depend on them to the point that our minds already know of their reality. We then act on or make decisions based on the presence of that reality now. Faith without decisions and action is not faith. Passive faith is at best wishful thinking or hoping without faith for the outcome.

Faith is a dynamic force in the believers life because faith is the spiritual connection between the believer and Yahweh’s plan for salvation.

Not being eyewitnesses, it does take faith to believe that Yahweh sent His only son Yahshua, to be the substitute bearer of our sins in order that we may be reconciled to Yahweh, and therefore, lay claim to Yahweh’s promise of eternal life. Being born again is the process that we choose to submit ourselves to in order to accept Yahweh’s specific and special plan for our individual salvation.

Yahweh has told us that it is His will that all men will come to Him and His truth so that they may be saved. Then Yahshua said, we can only come to the Father through Him, Yahshua, Messiah. We must accept what He did in order to get to our relationship with Yahweh. We must first acknowledge and establish a relationship with our Savior and Redeemer so that he can present us to Yahweh the Father. To do that takes faith.

How do we get this faith to be saved?

No man come to the Father except that he be drawn.

The Holy Spirit of Yahweh has the ministry on Earth to draw men to Yahweh so that they can claim their salvation. Whosoever calls on the name of Lord will be saved. WHOSOEVER! That means anybody who decides to call on Yahshua as Savior and Lord will be saved for salvation. But...for some reason many and too many will not make that decision and they will NOT be saved and they will not claim the salvation that Yahweh has ready for them. There are many reasons why this is so, but that is another subject for a later time.

Each of us, sinner and saint, atheist or thief, liar, debaucher or con-man...is a whosoever. And whenever, during this lifetime we call on Yahshua, the Heavens rejoice and Yahweh hears our plea and He accepts us into the family which will inherit everlasting life. But what comes out of our mouths, must be in our hearts. Yahweh will not be mocked.

So, it is here that we must be very careful. We must understand that one of Yahweh’s many attributes and characteristics is that He is omniscient. He knows everything about all things. That means he knows the motives of your heart and He cannot be fooled by words from your mouth not spoken from the conviction of your heart. He will not be mocked.

Because the Holy Spirit convicts all of us of our sinful nature (yet another subject to discuss later) and of our need for Yahshua as Savior and Lord, in the same manner, He knows our true and real reaction to it. When we open our mouths to confess that conviction as we have been given to understand it by the Holy Spirit, Yahweh knows what is truly in our hearts; and He knows, as we pray to Him, whether or not we are repentant of the sinful nature that we have been made aware of.

That’s the key. When we come to Yahweh for forgiveness, we must have in our hearts the undying desire to repent,b turn away from the old nature we were born into and turn toward the new nature that Yahweh creates for us and in us. We are new creatures, the old has died and the new has arisen from it.

Yahshua died for our sins in order to take the burden of them (the payment of eternal death - separation from Yahweh for eternity) from us. Even though each sin is our own to be responsible for to Yahweh, Yahshua agreed to accept the whole of that responsibility for all of us and to stand before Yahweh as “all sinners.” Yahshua took our eternal punishment instead of us. His motive? For Yahweh so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son...love. Yahshua loves us and He wants all of us to be reconciled to The Father. His choice first...our choice second. We love Yahweh because He loved us first.

Being borne again is simply allowing Yahweh to recreate our nature from that of a child of wrath from our father the devil, to His nature, Yahshua’ nature, the Holy Spirit’s nature. Do all things change instantly? No!

But now you have a new nature to view the world by. You have accepted Yahweh, His truth, His power and His blessing in your life. Your life will change as you begin to understand how your new nature deals with the world. Greater is He that is now in you, than he who used to be in you but is now just in the world.

Being born again is living life with Yahweh on your side and being active in it. It is being able to love from your heart, it is being able to give from your love, and to forgive with love and it is being able to live life abundantly. It is always being able to bring your concerns to Yahweh The Father and turning them over to Him for their outcome.

Being born again is your right...Yahshua died to give it to you.

Being born again brings you into your true inheritance...being co-heir with Yahshua.

Being born again frees you from death as you are now able to reach your eternal salvation.

Being born again puts you into a specific and special and individual relationship with Yahshua, King of Kings and Lord of Lords...and with Yahweh The Father, the Creator of all universes and all realms.

Being born again means you have the capacity to overcome the world as Yahshua did.

Being born again brings you into the plan of salvation which results in, as a minimum, life in the presence of Yahweh for eternity.

There is only one alternative to being born again.

Which is...not to be born again, and that keeps you in the family of wrath, which has only one characteristic...eternal existence without the presence of Yahweh and suffering torment through the whole time...without end...without hope. No escape...no change from the suffering, torment, and sorrow and pain.

As for me, being born again is all I Live for; but the life I live is Messiah living in me.

The alternative is not acceptable. It is unthinkable. It is inconceivable.

I choose life so that I may love the Lord my Creator!

The following prayer is a model. When you decide from your heart that you want Yahshua as your Savior and your Lord, read this prayer into you heart. Read it even several times. And when you have prepared your heart pray your prayer to Yahweh. He promises to hear you...He promises to accept you...He promises to save you...All of Yahweh’s promises are Yes. AMEN

“Father Yahweh...I realize that I am a sinner in the world, and I do not want continued separation from You. I know and understand that You sent Your Son Yahshua to show me the path back to You, and that He died on the Cross for my sins. Thank You Father for forgiving me of my sins, and I now repent and turn away from them all.

Father, I believe with all my heart, soul, mind, and body, that Yahshua was risen from the dead and is now with You at Your right hand, as my Lord and Savior and Intercessor.

Father...I believe that I have been healed of all sicknesses and diseases by His stripes.

Lord Yahshua...I ask You now, please come into my heart and into my life...I give my life to You.

And Father, I believe that You have sent the Holy Spirit to live in me and to teach me the heart and the mind of Yahshua.

In Yahshua’ name Father, I thank You for my salvation.

Now...decide to forgive all people of all things in all of your life...do not hold onto any bitterness, hate, or vengeance. Forgive so the Father in Heaven can forgive you. And…

Decide now, to be a disciple of The Messiah, Yahshua.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Phil. 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Yahshua Christ is Lord, to the glory of Yahweh the Father.

Eph. 4:21-24 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Yahshua: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after Yahweh is created in righteousness and true holiness.

John 3: 16-21 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For Yahweh so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For Yahweh sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of Yahweh.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in Yahweh.

1 John 4:6-9; 16-19 We are of Yahweh: he that knoweth Yahweh heareth us; he that is not of Yahweh heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of Yahweh; and every one that loveth is born of Yahweh, and knoweth Yahweh.

He that loveth not knoweth not Yahweh; for Yahweh is love.

In this was manifested the love of Yahweh toward us, because that Yahweh sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

And we have known and believed the love that Yahweh hath to us. Yahweh is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in Yahweh, and Yahweh in him.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We love him, because he first loved us.

1 John 4:10-12 Herein is love, not that we loved Yahweh, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Beloved, if Yahweh so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

No man hath seen Yahweh at any time. If we love one another, Yahweh dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Rom. 1:17-23 For therein is the righteousness of Yahweh revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

For the wrath of Yahweh is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of Yahweh is manifest in them; for Yahweh hath shewed it unto them.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew Yahweh, they glorified him not as Yahweh, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible Yahweh into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Eph. 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

2 Pet. 1:10-11 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Yahshua Christ.

Rom. 6:21-23 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to Yahweh, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of Yahweh is eternal life through Yahshua Christ our Lord.

1 Cor. 1:30-31 But of him are ye in Christ Yahshua, who of Yahweh is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Mark 16:16-18 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Rom 5:9-10 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to Yahweh by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Rom. 13:4 For he is the minister of Yahweh to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of Yahweh, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

1 Thes. 1:10 & 5:9-10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Yahshua, which delivered us from the wrath to come...For Yahweh hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Yahshua Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him

Gal. 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of Yahweh, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Deut. 30:19-20 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

That thou mayest love the LORD thy Yahweh, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Rom. 12:19-21 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Eph. 4:30-5:2 And grieve not the holy Spirit of Yahweh, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Yahweh for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Be ye therefore followers of Yahweh, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to Yahweh for a sweetsmelling savour.

End Note:

The King James Bible is used throughout this article.

You will also notice that we have used the proper names that were given to us in the Bible to refer to our Heavenly Father and His only begotten Son.

Yahweh is the name God gave us to use, and He said it means “I Am that I Am.”

He named His only Son Yahshua, and He told us that it means, “Yahweh with us.”

We can see in the two names their relationship to one another, which is not evident when we use the title “God” in referring to the Father, and the Greek transliteration “Jesus” when referring to the Son.

The same is true when we read about the city that the Father named for Himself, Yahrusalem. This means, “I Am Peace.” The spelling used today “Jerusalem” does not show that connection.

In honor of and in respect for our Father the Creator of all, we have chosen to use the names He has given us instead of the re-translated, transliterated titles that have become prevalent in use today.
