I. Moses asked to see it on Mt. Sinai, and it blew the priest away in the temple. John and Peter saw it, and heaven glows with it. It fills the scripture, and it has the ability to touch the lives of all who live.

A. The SHEKINAH glory of God. God’s Glory, the thing that changes worlds.

B. It is the thing that we should seek. We should pray for it to the extent that we have to wonder if we are bugging God, but we won’t be.

C. The word glory is an honor word. The Hebrew word for Glory comes from a word that means heavy or weighty.

D. The glory of God is the thing that outlines the significance of God. It sets God apart from all other things in the universe. Moses knew that, (Exo 15:11 NIV) "Who among the gods is like you, O LORD? Who is like you-- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?

E. God’s Glory is God’s priority! It is the thing that makes Him known for who He is among humans.

F. Heavens’ staff meetings are to answer one question, how can we reveal God’s glory today?

G. Heaven’s to-do list has one thing on it reveal the Glory of God.

H. We’re big on purpose statements in our world today, and the purpose statement hanging in heaven is Reveal the Glory of God.

I. God exists to show people Himself! (Lev 10:3 NIV) Moses then said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke of when he said: "’Among those who approach me I will show myself holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.’" Aaron remained silent.

II. We ask questions like why did God harden Pharaoh’s heart? The answer is simple for His glory. (Exo 14:4 NIV) And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD."

A. We seek answers to those questions so we can justify God. We want a logical answer to appease those who ask How could God make some’s heart hard? The answer is for His glory. To reveal Himself.

B. We want an explanation. The explanation is God does not have to explain himself to justify Himself to us, GET OVER IT!

C. We want to know why the heavens exist, (Psa 19:1 NIV) For the director of music. A psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

D. We want to know why God chose the Israelites as has people, wanna guess?(Isa 43:7 NIV) everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."

E. We want to know why people suffer? (Isa 48:10 -11 NIV) See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.

(Psa 50:15 NIV) and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

F. Isaiah understood, (Isa 63:14 NIV) like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the LORD. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.

G. Jesus even told us to make glorifying His name priority.

(Mat 6:9 NIV) "This, then, is how you should pray: "’Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

H. Jesus understood His place, (Heb 1:3 NIV) The Son IS THE RADIANCE OF GOD’S GLORY and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

(John 12:27 - 28 NIV) "Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ’Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again."

I. (John 17:4 NIV) I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

J. It is a shame that we don’t understand our place. We exist to reflect God’s glory in whatever way God intends. Everything exists to show God’s glory in every way that God intends.

K. God has one goal....(Isa 48:11 NIV) For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.

L. Does that surprise you? Get over it! Oh. But we say isn’t that self-centered? NO, get over it!

III. Let me ask you something? If you were in a shipwreck, and you were floating in the ocean neck deep in freezing water with a leaky life jacket and a life boat came along would you want the pilot of the life boat to be quiet?

A. Would you want him to say nothing and move quietly by while you drown? No you wouldn’t!

B. Well let me make it clear in case you don’t understand, where life is concerned you are in the ocean with a leaky life jacket! Your friends are in the ocean with a leaky life jacket. We are all in the ocean with a leaky life jacket and the last thing that we want is a God that does reveal His glory, because in HIS Glory we see the only way out of the Ocean!

C. If we were drowning in the Ocean we would want the Lifeboat driver to be yelling hey here I am. Here is the way out! I have the power and the ability to save you!

D. Do we really want anything less from God? Look around! We are thrashing around in oceans of guilt, anger, depression, and despair. If you haven’t noticed life ain’t workin for a lot people. I am not ok, and you’re not ok. Truth is we are all pretty messed up when you look at it by God’s standard..

E. Truth is most people in this world are going down fast, and God can rescue us, and what we need to see is God’s glory! Do you really want Him to do anything less than all He can to reveal His glory? Do you really want Him to just quietly pass by why we flounder in the water?

IV. Don’t make the mistake of believing that God has a ego problem. God could stay to Himself and do great without you or me!

A. God does not reveal His glory for His good, He does it because we need to see it, because, if we don’t see it we are sunk!

B. We need to be made aware that there is a strong arm to pull us out of the mess that we have gotten ourselves into.

C. We need a strong arm to pull us our of what we are drowning in and get us to a safe place!

D. And, when we are in that safe place what should our priority be? Well let me ask you another question? If you were in a ship wreck and you were pulled into the life boat, what would you think you would need to do then? A lot of people seem to think their job would be to sit quietly in the lifeboat and enjoy the fact that they are safe, while others drown.

E. But our real job is to help other people find the life boat, and get in right? (Psa 115:1 NIV) Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.

(2 Cor 10:7 NIV) You are looking only on the surface of things. If anyone is confident that he belongs to Christ, he should consider again that we belong to Christ just as much as he.

F. Everything you have including the breath that you are taking right now is for one purpose. Declaring God’s Glory! (1 Chr 16:24 NIV) Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. I don’t want to bruise our egos but that is the reason that God let us wake up this morning!

G. He made us, He saves us, He sustains us, He provides for us, and He has the right to use us to reveal his glory in any way that He pleases. (Rom 11:36 NIV) For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Amen means end of discussion!

H. (1 Cor 8:6 NIV) yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

I. We exist and live to reveal the glory of God. We have a problem with that though, we want to be important, pertinent, indispensable, get over it!

J. Why does the earth spin? For God!

K. Why do we have abilities? For God!

L. Why do we have riches or poverty? For God!

M. Why do we have strength or struggles? For God!

N. But, I don’t like that God! Get over it! Everything and everyone exists to reveal His Glory, including you!

O. Maybe its time to get over ourselves and realize what we are really here for.
