NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
John 11:1 – 26
Jesus Christ raised three people from the dead!
There was a child that was only twelve
A young man that was on his way to the graveyard
And then there was Lazarus dead and buried in
His tomb for four days already!!!
So basically Jesus broke up every funeral that
He went to!!!
Our life here on this ole earth is quite mysterious
To most of us, And also complex to most of us
There’s many things that they can do today in the
Laboratory like with proteins and cloning
And I don’t even know what all!!!
And I’m sure the list goes on and on
But man will never be able to create life,
Out of nothing.
It’s a terrible understatement that life is only
Chemistry as some atheist chemists believe
It’s a living miracle when we see even the
Simplest forms of life!!
Jesus Christ offering eternal life is really not no
More a miracle than us living to start with!!! AMEN!
There’s been people that have predicted the time
Of their own death
But the only one who not only predicted the time
Of his death but also the day of His resurrection
And we all know that that’s Jesus Christ
Back in Chap 2 Jesus told his critics
Destroy this temple and I will raise it up in three days
And of course the Jews said oh it took forty six
Years to build this temple
And you will raise it in three days???
But they didn’t realize that Jesus was speaking
Of His temple
So when He had risen from the dead
His disciples remembered that He had said this
And they all believed the scripture
And the word that Jesus said!!!
And all through the ages there have been many
Times when God has been victorious in His
Dealings with Man
But the greatest of them all was when Jesus
Christ rose from the dead
In an earth shattering moment
Jesus conquered the three greatest enemies
Of all mankind
HE CONQUERED SIN
HE CONQUERED SATAN
AND HE CONQUERED THE SECOND DEATH
Just like that ole song Victory in Jesus
He won the Victory over Sin
From the beginning in the garden of Eden
Man has been fighting sin
And because we are descendants of Adam
We have inherited this thing called sin from him
Just like little kids
You don’t have to teach them to do wrong
They do it all by themselves
And we have to teach them the right things to do
Romans 5:12 says:
Wherefore as by one man sin entered into
The world, and death by sin and so death
Passed upon all men
For that all have sinned
Sometimes we don’t even want to sin
Because we already know its harmful to
Our well-being
And we just can’t seem to be victorious
Over this little thing called sin
We think its influence over us is so strong
But sin and the devil have no power over us
Its only as powerful as we allow it to be
Romans 7:18 says:
For I know that in me that is in my flesh
Dwelleth no good thing; for to will is present
With me; but how to perform that which
Is good I find not!!!
The Apostle Paul uses the term Flesh in
A variety of ways
Sometimes it simply refers to the phyu7sical
Body
And sometimes it refers to physical descent
But here in VS 18 it’s used in an ethical sense
To refer to a condition of being dominated
By sin and sinful pursuits!
VS. 19 says:
For the good that I would I do not
But the evil which I would not, that I do!
But by the death of Jesus Christ on the
Cross at Calvary
Jesus provided us a way by which our
Sin can be removed
It’s by his resurrection (along with his blood)
That God can declare us
Perfectly righteous in Him
Have you ever been justified or
declared righteous
Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection have
Provided us this way
But you must accept Him in your heart
And believe that God has raised Him
From the dead
YOU WILL BE SAVED!!!
Romans chap. 10 VS. 9 & 10 says:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
The Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine
Heart that God hath raised him from the
Dead, thou shalt be saved
For with the heart man believeth unto
Righteousness; and with the mouth confession
Is made unto salvation!!!
He is there for the asking
And in doing so
You get forgiveness for your sins
And also you get eternal life in heaven
STREETS OF GOLD, GATES OF PEARL
WALLS OF JASPER, AN EVER FLOWING
RIVER OF LIFE!!
And you miss that terrible place called Hell!!!
Romans chapter 6 says
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift
Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
Our Lord!!!!!
As believers in Christ we have daily
Victory over sin.
Because of Jesus’ resurrection
And His resurrection power is there for
Everyone who believes
If we will just have the faith!!!
Phillipians chap 3:9 says:
And be found in him, not having mine own
Righteousness, which is of the law but that
Which is through the faith of Christ, the
Righteousness which is of God by faith!!
OH HALLELUJAH JESUS CHRIST
HAS WON THE VICTORY OVER SIN
AND WE HAVE VICTORY OVER SATAN
THROUGH JESUS!!!
When Jesus was crucified on Calvary, The devil
Thought he had finally accomplished his life
Long purpose to destroy God’s plan of salvation
He’d been trying for centuries:
HE CAUSED CAIN TO KILL ABEL
But God gave back Seth
HE CAUSED ABRAHAM IN UNBELIEF
TO BEAR ISHAMAEL
But God miraculously gave Isaac
HE CAUSED Joseph’s brothers to sell him
As a slave to Egypt
But God saved his whole family from
Starving to death through Joseph’s
Faithfulness!
He caused David to sin a sin worthy of death
But God gave him a repenting heart
He caused Herod to kill all the babies two
And under
But God directed Joseph and Mary to take
Baby Jesus to Egypt
Then He caused Judas to betray Christ
Leading to His crucifixion
And there was the triumph Satan waited for
But 5000 years of planning had paid off
For three days satan and his demons had
A victory party
But early on the third morning Jesus rose
From the dead
And Satan was defeated!!!! AMEN
1st Peter says:
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ
who is gone into Heaven and is on the
right hand of God;
angels and authorities and powers being made
subject unto him
1st John chap 3 says
for this purpose the Son of God was manifested
that he might destroy the works of the devil
satan is a defeated enemy
he can’t have control over us
as long as we are controlled by the Holy Spirit
1st John 4’4 says
greater is He that is in you than he
that is in the world
Jesus dwells in his believers
Satan is likewise the lord of his own followers
But Christ is greater than he who wreaks havoc
In the world
And He has given us victory over
The Second Death:
We as followers of Jesus have no need to
Fear physical death
Because we know that we can’t die spiritually
Just like that song
NO NO NO NOT I
I’LL NEVER DIE
Jesus said I am the resurrection and the life
He that believeth in me, though he were
Dead yet shall live
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me
Shall never die.
Believest thou this?
Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus
Physical death to us is but an entrance into glory
Paul said in 2nd Corinthians
We are confident, I say and willing rather
To be absent from the body and to be
Present with the Lord!!!
Philippians 1:21 says:
For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain
But if I live in the flesh this is the fruit of my
Labor, yet what I shall choose I wot not
VS. 23
For I am in a strait betwixt two
Having a desire to depart
And to be with Christ; which is
Far better:
We must believe that when we go to the grave
That is only our flower pot and we’re gonna
Bloom right on out into that beautiful place
Called Heaven!!!
1st Corinthians 15:42-44 says:
so also is the resurrection of the dead.
It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption
It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory
It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body
There is a natural body,
And there is a spiritual body!!
PRAISE THE LORD
JESUS CHRIST HAS WON THE VICTORY
OVER SIN
OVER SATAN
AND THE SECOND DEATH
The Apostle Paul ends chapter 15 of 1st
Corinth
So when this corruptible shall have put on in corruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass
the saying that is written, death is swallowed
up in victory
O death, where is thy sting?
O grave where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength
of sin is the law
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord!!!!
Do you want to be victorious tonight???
You can only be victorious with Jesus Christ
Living in your heart tonight.
