YOU HAVE TO COMMIT SUICIDE
Philippians 3:7-11
The Apostle Paul tells us here in this passage
that to really know Jesus Christ you must first
die!!!
VS. 10 says, That I may know him and the
power of his resurrection, and the fellowship
of his sufferings
being made comformable unto his death!!
Have you already committed suicide?
If so then you already know Jesus
If not We’ll encourage you in a little bit
To allow us to introduce you to Him!
Matthew 13:44 says:
Again the kingdom of heaven is like unto
treasure hid in a field;
the which when a man hath found, he
hideth and for joy thereof goeth and
selleth all that he hath
and buyeth that field!!!!
I have my part of that field bought and paid
For tonight
I just want to know if you’re paid up??
After you have committed suicide THEN
There has to be a resurrection tonight
In - your life for you to be a Christian!!
VS. 11 says
If by any means I might attain unto the
Resurrection of the dead!!!
The death and resurrection Paul is talking
About here is not anything physical or Fleshly
He’s talking about spiritual
This is what the Apostle was desiring to
Let us in on here in our reading tonight
And
As a matter of fact He’s letting us know that
This death and resurrection is not something
That We can accomplish on our own!!!
We can only get it through our Lord Jesus Christ
ISAIAH 53 says:
He shall see of the travail of his soul
and shall be satisfied by his knowledge
shall my righteous servant justify many
for he shall bear their iniquities!
I think that there’s many Christians that
Don’t know Jesus intimately or they don’t
Have an Intimate relationship with Him
Because they still haven’t committed suicide!!
You can see it in so-called Christians
Just by the way that they act or you can
Tell usually by the way that they talk!!
Many haven’t committed suicide yet!!
They still hang on to that old life
That old person!!
People you have to put that old person
To death!!!
That old man must die your old nature
Has to die and the new man
Must shine through!!
You have to remember that your spirit was
What was born again when you got saved,
Not your flesh!!!
2nd Corinthians 4:16 says
for which cause we faint not;
but though our outward man perish,
yet the inward man is renewed day by day!!!
When a person is saved
Then their veil or their blindness of their
Minds and the hardness of their hearts are cured!
They can now have more happiness
Because they have peace and Joy and comfort
In the Lord Jesus Christ!!!
Colossians 3:10 says
And have put on the new man
Which is renewed in knowledge
After the image of him that
Created him!!!!
The new man is the new person that you become
After you’re saved
You’ll posses a new nature,
You’ll have new values,
You’ll have a new lifestyle
You’ll have new friends
And your old friends won’t have anything
To do with you cause they feel to much
Jesus when they’re around you!!
And your new man will be made fresh
And new each and every day
Don’t get me wrong you’re gonna have battles
With the devil
You’re gonna be persecuted for His name’s sake
But we may take on some shrapnel today
But we’re gonna win the battle tomorrow
I know that when I’m getting persecuted for
Jesus’ name sake
That’s when I know that I’m doin something right
That’s when I know that ole devil is mad!!!hahaha!
I know I’m doing what Jesus wants me to do
When somebody is mad!!!
John 17:3 says
And this is life eternal, that they might know
Thee; the only true God, and Jesus Christ,
Whom thou hast sent
You see eternal life is more than an endless
Existence. It’s a personal relationship with God!
Ephesians 4:23 says:
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind!!
This is telling us that we’re gonna be constantly
Changing, and It’ll be for the better
Romans 12:2 says:
Be not conformed to this world
But be ye transformed by the renewing
Of your mind that ye may prove what is
That good and acceptable and perfect
WILL OF GOD!!!!
Don’t allow yourself to be poured into the
Mold of the old man’s thinking
Resist being dragged into the conduct
Of this sinful world
Keep your blinders up and in place
Don’t look to the left
Don’t look to the right
Focus straight ahead on Jesus
And you can’t go wrong!!!!
The bible says resist the devil and
He must flee from you!!!
When a part of you dies then that allows
Another part to take over!!
John the Baptist put it this way
I must decrease so Christ will increase!!
First you have to know how to commit suicide
So you can have that close relationship with God!
Then you have to understand how the spiritual
Resurrection happens after the suicide!!!
Then understand what has happened
On the outside!!!
Romans 6:3 says
Know ye not that so many of us were
Baptized into Jesus Christ were
Baptized into his death!!!
Baptism joins the believer to Jesus Christ
Then the Holy Spirit gets a hold on us
Then along with baptism brings the symbol of
The death, burial, and resurrection.
You need to die in your self and in the sin
of the world
You need to deny yourself
And take up the cross
And to do this you must have the mind
Of Christ
Philippians 2:8 says:
And being found in fashion as a man He
Humbled himself, and became obedient
Unto death, even the death of the cross!!
The Key is to humble yourself, be obedient,
and die!!!!!
We have to allow God to crucify the old man
The Apostle Paul already knew how to
Commit suicide
Galatians 2:20 says:
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless
I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me:
And the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of God
Who loved me, and gave himself for me!!!
This means we have been freed from the law
And from the ruling power of sin
I NO LONGER LIVE
BUT CHRIST LIVES IN ME!!
We have to depend on Him for strength
And all necessities!!!
Paul isn’t talking about the old life but
The resurrected life
Philippians 1:21 says
For to me to live is Christ,
And to die is gain
Just like Paul here we should be ready and
Willing to magnify the Lord by death
Just like we should be willing to magnify
him to life!!
Ephesians 4:22 says:
That ye put off concerning the former
Conversation the old man
Which is corrupt according to the
Deceitful lusts:
Or take off the old man or the former man
VS. 23 says
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind
Vs. 24 says
And that ye put on the new man which after
God is created in righteousness
And true holiness!!
YOU SEE
The death, destruction, burial and Resurrection
Can only be accomplished if you yield to
The Holy Spirit and allow him to lead
Your fleshly bodies
We can’t do this under our own powers!!
Scripture tells us that it was the power of
The Holy Ghost that resurrected Jesus Christ
From the dead
And each one of us that believes has that
Same power of the Holy Ghost living in us
The Holy Spirit is what does the renewing
Titus 3:5 says:
Not by works of righteousness which we
Have done, but according to his mercy
He saved us
By the washing of regeneration and renewing
Of the Holy Ghost.
Regeneration is referring to the work of
The Holy Spirit in the salvation experience
That produces new life to the believer
This is where Jesus got the term “born again”
Once we have evidence that we have committed
Suicide
The old man is dead and we are a new creation
Then we will begin to notice things
Things like you’ll start to suffer.
And your old friends will forsake you
And people will persecute you for Jesus’
Name sake
Your own flesh will even rise up against you
Then when you begin to suffer you’ll
Experience the power of God
Paul said therefore will I rather
Glory in my infirmities
That the power of Christ may rest upon me
And then along with the resurrected life
You’ll know Christ
And you’ll begin to notice that Christ will
begin to Do things through you
then you’ll notice that its Him doing things
and not you
to know him is to allow Him to take you
through the death and suffering
once you do then you’ll begin to experience
the new and good resurrected life
then you can say just like the Apostle Paul said
I am crucified with Christ
Nevertheless I live
Yet not I but Christ liveth in me
Folks have you committed suicide??
Have you crucified that old flesh??
You’ll never experience the good and sweet
Power of God until you do!!!
If you haven’t committed suicide won’t
you come forward tonight?
Come and reckon yourself dead
Put off that old man
Come and take up the cross and follow Jesus
Jesus Christ laid the foundation for you
He died on that OLE rugged Cross for your
Sins and for mine!!!
Jesus did the most for us that He could do
The least we can do for Him is serve Him
