Year of Jubilee
Leviticus 25:10
December 31, 2005
And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.
Sanctify the fiftieth year; make it a holy year. Proclaim freedom all over the land to everyone who lives in it--a Jubilee for you: Each person will go back to his family’s property and reunite with his extended family. – Message Bible
A command that God gave the Israelites was the keeping of the year of jubilee.
The English word jubilee comes from the Hebrew word “Yobel” meaning a trumpet or ram’s horn.
2006 is the biblical year of the trumpet
Trumpets were sounded throughout the land of Israel and two amazing things will happened:
Ø All Hebrew slaves were set free.
o Romans 8:2 - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
o Romans 8:21 - that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
o Galatians 5:1 - It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
o In 2006, People that were slaves to sin will be set free. It is up to us to witness to them again and reap the harvest of souls.
Ø All land returned to its original owners or owner’s family.
o Zechariah 9:11-12 - As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit. Return to the stronghold, You prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.
o Because of the blood! What can take away my sin? What can make me whole again? What allows me to take part in these promises found in the word of God = The Blood!!!!!!
o Jeremiah 30:17 - For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, "Because they called you an outcast saying: "This is Zion; No one seeks her."’
o During this year, the enemy must return the things taken from God’s chosen people!
§ What has the enemy taken from you? Your joy? Your health? Your family? Pray the prayer of faith over these lost possessions and have them returned!
History of Jubilee
1. The birth of Abraham
a. Happened 40 jubilees or 2,000 years from Adam.
b. Abraham was born in a wicked place called Ur
c. Went to Bethel and received his inheritance.
2. The Exodus
a. Happened 50 jubilees or 2,500 years from Adam.
b. This is the very day that the Israelites came out of Egypt.
c. God promised them the land of Cannon.
3. The death and resurrection of Jesus
a. Happened 80 jubilees or 4,000 years from Adam.
b. Luke 4:18-19 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
I believe that the earth is getting ready for a great outpouring of God in 2006.
Mark 16:17-18 - And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
Let’s take a look back over the last 100 years or the last two jubilees:
1906 – The Azusa street revival started. This was a mighty outpouring of God’s spirit that fell on Los Angeles. A revival that lasted every day for three years. Devine healings and filling of the Holy Spirit hit every gender and race how attended these meetings.
1956 – This was called the great era of tent evangelism. During this year again it is well documented of great moves of God from salvation of lost souls, divine healing, the in filling of the Holy Spirit. Men like:
Jack Coe - Who ministered in Florida with a tent that held 22,000 people and it was filled every service.
Oral Roberts - in the Midwest where miracles happened in every meeting.
Kathryn Kuhlman– During 1956, She held her famous miracle services in Carnegie Hall for 20 years, filling the great auditorium to capacity every time.
What’s in store for 2006???
What is going to happen at this church?
What was common between the 1906 & 1956 outpouring was there was a hunger for more of God.
Can we say what Isaiah said in chapter 6? - Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."
