THE SECRET OF LIFE. JAMES 4:13-14
James 4:13-14.
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
INTRODUCTION.
James uses a rhetorical question to make a point to his reader’s that Life is both short and uncertain. Also within this question lies the implication that life is a very special gift from God. Today we are going to answer this question and find the secret of Life. Amen.....
As you all know yesterday we buried Dawn, a 24 year old lady, that was full of life, A wonderful lady who "Loved" God with all her heart, It is so easy to ask the question Why? So young, so full of life, with so much set before her, Its so easy sometimes to wonder why would the lord Take such a young person, Had 2 young Babys. Well, I must say, That we do not have the promise of tommorow.
And even though we dont understand. But "God" is the one in controll. Amen.
So I want to ask some question and then give you the answer to them.
THERE IS A SECRET TO LIFE AND LETS SEE IF WE CAN UNFOLD IT.
A...... WHAT IS YOUR LIFE?
You life is a result of a "Promise" Gen. 1:22.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
B......... YOUR LIFE HAS ENORMOUS "POTENTIAL"
Your potential is so great that so many times we dont stop and let come to pass sometimes we get in a hurry and it just passes us up.
STORY.
A man by the name of Thomas edison who invented the Light bulb he had tryed so many differ ways and it seem like that every way was a wrong way. He had gotton up to 100 times and had still not got it, One day his friend said to him why dont you just give this Idea up. you are not going to find way to do for you have Try 100 times and have still not got it.
Well, Thomas edison said to him, I have not failed, I have only found 100 ways not to make a light bulb. And i will find the right way. And you know he did, but what if he had just giving up and quit. You see Thomas edison had great "potential" and so do we.
STORY
Another man by the name of George washington carver.
Said one day he was "Praying" and ask God to show him the secret to the universe, And God said back to him, you dont need to know that secret, But I will show you the secret to the Peanut, And he found many uses for a peanut. Why? Because he had Great "Potential" in his life.
C.......... YOUR LIFE HAS A "PURPOSE" JOB 33:4
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
In every thing we do and In everything God leads you to do, and even things like death to a love one when we can not understand it, "God" still has a "Purpose"
IN ORDER FOR YOU TO REACH YOUR "POTENTIAL" AND FULLFILL YOUR "PURPOSE" YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE "POWER"
James tells us that our Life is just a "Vapor" and Important. James 4:14
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Peter tells us that "God’s" Power has given us all Things that we need to evperience life and godliness 2nd peter 1:3.....
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

A......His "Precepts" Ps. 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
B.....THE "PRINCIPLE" OF LIFE John 7:21-24
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Dont get hung up on the "Preceipt" or you will miss the "principle"
C...........THE "PERSON" John 17:3
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
The secret of life is found right here in Gods word.
