Summary: An inspiring sermon on our appreciation for the ministry of the trinity.

Thank God for the Father

Thank God for the Son

Thank God for the Holy Spirit

1 John 5:7

Eph. 2:18

As I was praying last Tuesday I began to give thanks unto God for various blessings He has bestowed upon my life.

I began to thank God for the Holy Spirit and for the ministry He does.

I began to thank God for Jesus and for what He did for me on the cross of Calvary.

Then it just came to me, “Thank God for the Father, thank God for the Son, and thank God for the Holy Spirit.

First of all I want to place emphasis on the Father. I want to thank God for the Father.

Yes, God is the Father, but I thank Him for being the Father.

For it was the Father who spoke this universe into existence.

He is the everlasting God, whom Abraham and David of old worshipped.

He is the Lord Jehovah, who helped His people.

He is unchangeable, enduring, Omnipresent, and omnipotent.

He is the Most High, supreme God, the ruler of Heaven and earth.

He is a big God, so big that He is the creator of this universe.

He made the sun, the moon, the earth and all that exists in this vast universe.

He scattered the stars across the sky and placed them all in order.

Our finite minds cannot fathom the grandeur and awesomeness of God.

He has no beginning and no ending.

He is universally present, and knows all things.

He is the author, Creator, and Sustainer of all things.

He counts the number of the stars, and calls them all by name.

Just a few hundred years ago it was thought that our universe contained a few thousand stars to the naked eye.

Now estimates of stars in the Milky Way galaxy along range from 100 billion to 10 trillion.

The Milky Way is so huge that light traveling at over 186,000 miles per second needs 100 thousand years to cross the 600 quadrillion miles it spans.

The distance between stars in the Milky Way averages at 36 trillion miles!

And if that wasn’t enough, there are thought to be as many as 10 billion galaxies in the visible universe and probably about 50 billion altogether.

Now remember, we’re talking about galaxies, not individual stars.

And God created it all, and continues to create through His great providence.

God created the sun which is about 93 million miles from the earth.

It takes light, which travels over 186,000 miles per second, 8 1/2 minutes to get here from the sun.

The diameter of the sun is 870,000 miles, 109 times larger than our earth.

And the top all that off, a star has been discovered which they have named Ant-ares, that is so huge, that it would hold 36 million of our suns.

The size of this star is mind-boggling!

And some say, “There is no God.”

Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.”

I am thankful for the Father!

He is my provider.

He is my sustainer

He is my shepherd

He is my comfort

He is my hope

He is my healer

He is my peace

He is my constant companion

He is my Master

He is the Rock of Ages

The bright and morning star

He is the great I am

He is the judge of all the earth

He is provider of my salvation

He is awesome, almighty, all powerful, exercising all power and dominion.

He is my father which means He constantly takes care of me.

I am His child. He constantly watches over me.

Ps 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

1Pe 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:

Thank God for the Father!

Secondly, thank God for the Son!

I give thanks today for Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.

He is in the Father and of the Father.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was from the beginning and begotten by the Father.

He came from heaven to this earth for one main purpose, to be a sacrifice for our sins!

Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Lu 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Mt 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Paul said, in 1Ti 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”

Thank God for Jesus!

For He died on the cross for my sins and paid the price for my redemption.

Isaiah said He is “wonderful, counsellor, mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Paul said He is, “the exalted one,”

Peter said He is, “the Chief Shepherd”

Matthew said He is, “the anointed one”

James said He is, “the Lord of Glory”

God said, “This is my beloved Son”

The Angel said, “ For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Thank God for Jesus!

Thank God for what Jesus did for me on the cross of Calvary!

Thank God for sending Jesus into the world to die for the sins of the whole world. John 3:16

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Thank God for the Holy Spirit!

Oh Church! Let us thank God for the Father, and He is so good to us.

Let us thank God for the Son, for because of Him our sins have been forgiven and we have access to the Throne of God.

Let us thank God for the Holy Spirit who lives inside our innermost being!
