Summary: What is this faith that is able to count you righteous

1stBBC

A faith to follow

Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Rom 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

His faith is set as an example for us … father of all who believe

A faith that is able to count you righteous

Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Rom 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

1. is a faith in the Lord who calls

He was first called by the Lord

Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

According to His purpose

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Gal 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Many joins but are not called, many follow but were not invited. Many have faith but in a Lord that cannot move, a faith in a Lord that they call.

Isa 51:2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

The call is always a call to leave.

Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2. is a faith that cares about nothing

Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2Co 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight

Phi 4:6 Be careful for nothing ….

3. is a faith that owns nothing

1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Gen 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

2Co 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

4. is a faith that do anything

Jam 2:18-20 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

God’s first is the sign that you cannot miss of every believer, a sign you cannot miss of every one following the same faith.
