Summary: This sermon takes a look at the greatest N.F.L. ever, and it doesn’t stand for the National Football League. N.F.L. stands for a New Found Life. This sermon tells Christians how they have a New Found Life (N.F.L.) through Christ

The N.F.L. - New Found Life

Romans 1:1-6

From here on I referered to New Found Life simply as N.F.L.

Intro: Amazing Grace - The story of how John Newton came to grips that he needed the Lord, while the ship he was on almost sunk in a storm (Read the 1st stanza).

I. We have N.F.L. by Grace – Vs. 1-3 –God’s grace is sufficient for all.

A. Ephesians 2:8 – “By grace you have been saved”

B. With our N.F.L. we now can enter into His Holiness by Grace.

C. By Grace we are called Joint Heirs of Christ – Romans 8:17; Ephesians 3:6

We have a New Found Life by the Grace of God.

II. We have N.F.L. at the Cross – Vs. 4

A. Buried in His Likeness – Vs. 4a How are we buried with Christ? Through baptism. Baptism shows us what Jesus did for us

B. Raised from Death – Vs. 4b Jesus rose from the grave so we could have N.F.L.

C. We now can walk in N.F.L. – Vs. 4c

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light, and the burden of my heart rolled away, it was there by faith I received my sight, and now I am happy all the day.

III. We have N.F.L. through the Resurrection – Vs. 5-6

A. We are united in His likeness – Vs. 5

B. Our sin has been wiped clean – Vs. 6a

C. N.F.L. means we are no longer are slaves to sin – Vs. 6b

Because the grave could not hold Him, we have a New Found Life through Him

Conclusion: The National Football League the other NFL

The NFL has only one agenda and that is to get as many people watching football as they can. I admit, I love the game, but it does not control me as it does some. The N.F.L. I have talked about today wants people to come to the knowledge that through Jesus Christ they have a New Found Life a life that will last an eternity. Do you have the N.F.L.?
