Summary: a message on the confidence we have in Christ.

That’s for sure

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

The will of God. Accomplishing the will of God in our lives, should be our number one goal as believers of Jesus Christ, and born-again followers in his kingdom.

Several times, Jesus said “ I do not my will, but the will of him who sent me.”

He knew that he was not here to accomplish only what he wanted to accomplish, but that his purpose was much greater than that.

When the Lord taught the disciples to pray, he told them to say, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

The same is true for us, The purpose of God in our lives, far outweighs the temporary satisfactions of this life.

Tell your neighbor, you have a purpose !!!

Our purpose for being here today, is not so that I can stand here, and try to look holier than thou, and try to tell you how to live. But the purpose for us being gathered together, in one mind, and one accord, is so that we may grow together as a body, and learn how to function properly for the kingdom of God.

The purpose of your life as an individual however, is completely different than your neighbor. Your purpose is to be a light in the darkness, and a place of stability in a broken world.

The fact of the matter is, that you can reach people, who no one else in this entire world may be able to reach.

With all of the things that God has brought you through in your life, it could be that only you, can reach someone else who has gone through a similar event.

Joyce Meyer…..people who have gone through similar struggles can relate.

Kim Clement…..drugs

People who have come from serious illness’ Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts….function in healing ministries. Your purpose is developed through your circumstances.

How do I find my purpose, and what is God’s will for my life ?

The answer to this lies in things that you have endured thus far. Many of us know what it means to lose someone close to us. One of your ministries could be that you can counsel others who have gone through this painful process.

Alcohol, Drugs, Depression, Anxiety, abuse, homelessness, whatever it is that you’ve been through, is a good sign that this is your ministry.

While it is impossible for any man to be able to fully comprehend the mind of God, he does give us some insight into his will. The bible tells us that his thoughts are above our thoughts, and his ways are above our ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are his ways above our ways.

The bible goes on to tell us that God is incomprehensible. Job 11:7-10

7 “Can you discover the depths of God?

Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?

8 “They are high as the heavens, what can you do?

Deeper than Sheol, what can you know?

9 “Its measure is longer than the earth

And broader than the sea.

10 “If He passes by or shuts up,

Or calls an assembly, who can restrain Him?

While God can not be completely understood, he does give us insight into portions of what his will is for our lives.

Dt. 30: 9 “Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers;

10 if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul.

The will of the father is that you would seek him with all of your heart, and all of your soul. It is repeated time and time again, what the Lord requires for us to truly be in the will of God.

Duet. 4:29 “But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.

It is impossible to be in the perfect will of God, if you are not seeking him wholeheartedly.

The bible tells us that the eyes of the Lord go to and fro throughout the earth, looking for someone to show himself strong in, whose heart is perfect toward him. God is just looking for someone to show himself strong in. He’s searching, not just for someone who has the look down, and not just for someone who has all of the Christian lingo, but God is looking for someone who will cry out, NOT MY WILL, But yours be done.

1 Jn. 2: 15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

God is desiring a deeper commitment from you. God is calling for more of you. He wants to show you and tell you more, but you’ve got to give more. Jesus said, I would that you were hot or cold, for if you are lukewarm, I will spue you out of my mouth.

No more games, no more half-heartedness, today is the day to decide, all or nothing.

God brought all of us through everything that we have been through for a reason, and that reason is for us to be more equipped to serve him.

Some of us have been robbed by the enemy for years, and we can’t quite figure out why. It seems as though every time that you start to get ahead, you end up back where you started.

Every time that you start to gain momentum, there comes a big curve. Everytime that your bank account starts to grow, something breaks down. Every time that you begin to get well, there comes another symptom.

Col. 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Do everything that you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord. If its work, then work hard, if its study, then study hard, the scripture said do it heartily, that means do it with all of your soul.

Eph. 5:17 16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

God created man to be in his own image. In genesis, it says, let them have dominion over all the earth. Gods will for you and I, is not that we should walk around broke, busted, and disgusted, but that we should be kings and priests in the earth.

That we should have dominion over everything in the earth.

John wrote, beloved, I would (will) above all things, that you may prosper, and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not Gods will that you be sick, and broke. It is his will that you be in health, and be prosperous.

1 Jn. 5:14-15 This is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Gods will is that we prosper, and be in health, his will is that we have dominion over the earth, his will is that no one should perish, but that everyone should have eternal life.

Our responsibility is to be in position to receive the blessings from God.
