Summary: a powerful insight to how the word of God brings healing

Proverbs 4:20-23

20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The word of God, the bible says, is life unto those that find them, and health to all of their flesh.

Job said, I have esteemed your words more than my necessary food.

David wrote, thy word o Lord, is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my pathway.

Peter said, the flower may fade, and the grass shall wither, but the word of the Lord shall stand forever.

Here Solomon said, that the words of God are life, and health. Or literally, that the words of God bring healing to your body, and give you eternal life.

It was with a word, that God spoke the entire creation into existence. And God said, let their be light. And God said let their be a firmament. God said let the waters be gathered together. And God said, let the earth bring forth grass. And God said let the waters bring forth abundantly. And God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over all the earth, and all that dwells within.

Its in his word. And God said.

My son, attend to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes, and keep them in the midst of your heart.

God told Joshua-This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therin. For then shall thou make your way prosperous, for then shall you have good success.

You may find a way to have temporary success in this earth, but the only way that we will ever have what the bible considers to be good success, is when we observe to do all that is written within the covers of his word.

2 Tim. 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Its in studying the word of God that we show ourselves approved unto God. It is not our head knowledge of Gods word that shows us approved, but the faith that we gain in studying his word.

It is faith that pleases God. Not our degrees, not our diplomas, nor our suits, but it is faith that pleases God. And the bible says that Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Faith does not come from anywhere other than the uncompromising, unadulterated, all powerful, all sufficient, ever living word of God.

Paul told Timothy to study, so that he would not miss out on the blessings that are available unto him. He said, I want you to know Gods word, so that you will know what it is that is available to you.

We have to know our rights, and the promises that God made to us.

The bible declares that God has put his name above all things, and his word above his name.

It also tells us that God is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent. Gods word is true, from the beginning to the end.

If there is one thing that our God can not do, that is tell a lie. He can’t lie, and he can’t fail. There are many blessings that come from the word of God.

Dt. 28: 1And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. 3Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 7The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

The conditions to these blessings are, if you will listen closely to the commandments of the Lord thy God. Or in other words, if you will hear his words, and do them.

Knowing the word of God, and having faith in its authenticity, can bring you comfort in your storms. Ps. 119:28 My soul cries because of heaviness, strengthen me according to your word Lord !! v 50 This is my comfort in my affliction, for thy word hath quickened me.v97 O how I love thy law! It is my meditation all day, they have made me wiser than my enemies, and more understanding than my teachers.

David said the only comfort that I have in my affliction, is that your word has quickened me. He said, your word o’Lord has given me life.

The word of God is a word of comfort, not of condemnation. Jesus said come unto me those who are burdened and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Romans 1:1 There is now therefore no condemnation, to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Its in the word. The word of God is food for your soul- Jesus said, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The word of God is healing to your body, and also to your soul. It’s a revelation of his ways, a code of his precepts, and a list of his statutes. The word of God is a source of your cleansing, and a ready counselor. It’s a history of Gods wonderous works, and a tower of strength. The source of life, the way of truth, rightouesness, and the way of salvation.

The word of God is the book of the promised mercies, better than riches, and worth more than gold. Its sweeter than honey, and satisfying to the soul.

Its safe to say, whatever we need, is in the word. Its in the word!!!

It’s the word of God that is our weapon of warfare in the full armor of God. Finally taking up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.

Heb 4:12 AMP For the word that God is alive and full of power, making it active, operative, energizing, and effective, it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the soul and the spirit, and of joints and marrow, exposing and sifting, and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

It was with a word that Peter stepped out of the boat. Not a sermon, not a sentence, but one word. Come.

It was with the word that Jesus spoke Lazarus out of the grave. Lazarus come forth. And a man who had been dead for 4 days came out of the tomb. He was stinking.

And he was brought back to life, not by a ceremony, nor because of the way that Jesus was dressed, but he stepped out of the tomb on a word. Come forth.

The word of God is all powerful. Jn. 1:1 In the beginning was the word..

The enemy has been attacking your mind, and your body, and your family, is because he thinks the more that he puts on you, the greater chance of you giving up on God.

Many of us don’t realize this, but the reason why the enemy has been attacking you the way that he has, is because of the word that God has spoken over your life. He has tried to inflict sickness upon you, and depression, and confusion, but the devil is a liar.

You may not know it, but the devil is not hitting you first, he is trying to hit you back. If God is the alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, then it is impossible for the enemy to hit you first. It is the word of God inside of you that picks the fight.

God said I inhabit the praises of my people, He lives in the praises, so when we start praising God to us it sounds like I praise you Jesus, thank you lord, you are worthy, but when it hits satans ears he hears na-na-na-na naaaaa.

See, when you begin to praise God, by the time it gets to the ears of the enemy it is torturous.

This is a picture of what is going to happen when Jesus comes back after the tribulation.

Rev 19:11-13 Picture this, he is on a White horse, he is called faithful, trustworthy, loyal, incorruptible, steady, and true, and he makes war in righteousness, His eyes are blazing like a flame of fire, and he is wearing many kingly crowns –these represent every battle in your life that he has come through victoriously. And he has a name which only he can know or understand. And he is wearing a robe that is dyed in blood, it is dripping, with blood, and his name is…………. The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen white and clean.

This shows that it is not us that is even doing the fighting, but the rider that lives down inside of us.

Out of his mouth went a sharp sword, that with it he will smite the nations, he shall rule them with a rod of iron, and he treads the wine press with the fierceness and wrath of almighty God. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

When ever satan tries to attack you, he is not just seeing written typed words, but he is seeing the rider that has defeated him upon the cross, and that is going to cast him into the bottomless pit.

IS. 42:13-15 Amp the Lord will go forth like a mighty man, he will rouse up his zealous indignation and vengence like a warrior. He will cry, yes, he will shout aloud. He will do mightily against his enemies. 14 Thus saith the Lord, I have for a long time held my peace, I have been still and refrained myself, now I will cry out like a woman in travail, I will gasp and pant together. I will lay waste the mountains and hills, and dry up their herbage, I will turn the rivers into islands and I will dry up the pools.
