Summary: What Joshua wants to know from Istreal is after 40 years what lessons have you learned

Serving God: What Has Changed In Your Life?

Joshua 24:14-15

1)OUR ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE SIN. When God revealed to you your SIN what has changed? On the other side of the flood we thought that we were Ok. ON the other side of the flood we were just like everyone else. On the other side of the flood we did what we wanted to do.

Now that we are aware of sin, what has changed? On the other side we were able to distinguish between right and wrong, but our vision was hazy for some wrong we called right; and some right you called wrong.

Are we opposed to sin? Is sin alright SOMETIMES? Have we gone from drinking to sipping, from a lot to a little SIN

WHAT JOSHUA WANTS TO KNOW FORM ISREAL

IS ASFTER 400 YEARS WHAT LESSONS HAVE

YOU LEARNED? CAN YOU NOT TELL RIGHT

FROM WRONG EVEN NOW?

Many have been in church all of their lives and still have no regard for RIGHT And Wrong. Much like math 2+2=4. Right is always right. If it was right in the bible days it is still right now.

Wrong is still wrong and right is still right

If you are saved you cannot go back. Paul says in Rom. 6:1 “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound . . .”

2)OUR RESPONSE TO SIN SHOULD HAVE CHANGED. Not only should the reality of Sin cause us to reconsider our lives but we ought to experience sorrow. That is twofold: we ought to see the sorrow that Sin has

caused others and the sorrow that we cause God.

A> Sin has a consequence and a penalty. When

we are saved the penalty is removed (death).

Because of the blood of Jesus we are saved,

we are being saved and we shall be saved.

B> The consequence of sin is another matter.

The alcoholic who needs a liver transplant,

the promiscuous man or woman who contracts

AIDS, the parent who has no time for their

children and now their children are dead

or in jail; all consequences for SIN

WHAT JOSHUA IS SAYING HAVE YOU NOT LEARNED THE

LESSONS OF THE PAST?

What Joshua is asking the nation of Israel is; have you not learned from history? As good as God has been to you how can you serve any other God. Your fathers turned their back on Him and suffered. Are you going to make the SAME MISTAKE?

3)THE MAGNITUDE OF WHAT WE KNOW SHOULD HAVE CHANGED.

The longer we are in church the more we ought to be able to handle the TRUTH!! Paul told the Corinthians that he could not talk to them on a spiritual level; but had to fed them milk (1Cor. 3:1-2)

The WORD OF GOD is what grows you. The more you fed on it the more you Grow. We have an all you can eat buffet every Tuesday(Bible class) night at 7pm. Sunday Brunch at 9:45am every Sunday and every Sunday morning at 7:am we have see food. All the food I give comes with the corresponding scriptures

4)THE MAGNITUDE OF WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO DO SHOULD

ALSO CHANGE. Baby Christians wait until they are asked. Mature Christians act like Isaiah: “If the Lord Needs somebody . . .”

Somebody sitting here this morning has never headed a church project because no one has asked. Imagine when God judges you; and there is nothing on your resume and you say Lord nobody asked.

WHAT SHOULD HAVE CHANGED IS THAT YOU RECOGNIZE THAT WHATEVER YOU DO NOW YOU DO FOR HIM!!! WHETHER IN WORD OR DEED YOU DO ALL FOR HIS GLORY!!!

OUR MIND SET MUST CHANGE

OUR FOCUS MUST CHANGE

WHAT HAS CHANGED IN YOUR LIFE

SOMEBODY SAID I HAVE A NEW WALK

BUT MY QUESTION IS WHAT DIRECTION ARE YOU WALKING IN ARE YOU WALKING IN THE COUNCIL OF THE UNGODLY?

SOMEBODY SAID I HAVE A NEW TALK

MY QUESTION IS TO WHOM ARE YOU TALKING

DO YOU GO TO THE GARDEN ALONE WHILE THE DEW IS STILL ON THE ROSES . . . .?

SOMEBODY SAID I HAVE NEW SHOUT

BUT MY QUESTION IS WHO CAUSES THE SHOUT
