In Him We are Conquerors

He Never Loses

Foundational Text: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

This morning we want to take a look at scripture to see what I believe to be some very practical application to the “In Him Realities”, or who we are in Christ Jesus, and how it applies to our life.

Let’s look again at our foundational scriptures before going on this morning.

I. More Than conquerors

A. In all this things?

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

1. Tribulation – Pressure (to compress, figuratively to oppress with evil),

Distress – narrow territory, we would say “tight spot”, it also means great distress

Persecution – hostile prosecution, being pursued or followed

Webster defines = 1. In a general sense, to pursue in a manner to injure, vex or afflict; to harass with unjust punishment or penalties for supposed offenses; to inflict pain from hatred or malignity. 2. Appropriately, to afflict, harass, or destroy for adherence to a particular creed or system of religious principles, or to a mode of worship. Thus Nero persecuted the Christians by crucifying some, burning others, and condemning others to be worried by dogs.

Famine - It refers to hunger, famine, want of food. It is spoken of single persons suffering hunger.

Nakedness - Nakedness, destitute of convenient or decent clothing, spiritual nakedness, being destitute of the spiritual clothing of the righteousness which is by faith

Peril - to be in danger.

Sword - A knife, slaughter-knife, a sword for cutting

2. Paul asks a question? Or sword? Romans 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Praise God Paul answers that question with verse 37!!!!

Romans 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (38) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, (39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

a. (ALT) _But_ in all these [things] we are completely victorious through the One having loved us.

b. (AMP) Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

c. (GNB) No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!

3. Conqueror = hupernikaō (hoop-er-nik-ah’-o) to conquer, overcome. To more than conquer, utterly defeat.

a. huper = A primary preposition; “over”, that is, (with the genitive case) of place, above, beyond, across, or causal, for the sake of, instead, regarding; with the accusative case superior to, more than.

b. nikaō = to subdue (literally or figuratively): - conquer, overcome, prevail, get the victory.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome (nikao) the world.

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (5) Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Confession: I am a conqueror! I prevail, I get the victory!!!

II. I Can Do All Things

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

A. All things through Christ = en (primary preposition denoting fixed position.

1. In Covenant with the Anointed One and His anointings.

B. I can do = ischuō (is-khoo’-o) From G2479; to have (or exercise) force (literally or figuratively): - beable, avail, can do ([-not]), could, be good, might, prevail, be of strength, be whole, + much work.

C. Which Strengtheneth me –

1. Which strengtheneth = endunamoō (en-doo-nam-o’-o) From G1722 and G1412; to empower: - enable, (increase in) strength (- en), be (make) strong.

a. G1722 en en A primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state),

b. G1412 dunamoō (doo-nam-o’-o) From G1411; to enable: - strengthen.

c. G1411 dunamis (doo’-nam-is )From G1410; force (literally or figuratively); specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself): - ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.

D. Based upon our word study this morning, this is what the Greek language is saying to us concerning Phil 4:13:

“I have prevailing strength to exercise force concerning everything and anything because of my fixed covenant position in my relationship with the Anointed One and His Anointings, and it is because of my fixed covenant position based upon my relationship with Him that I am infused with His miracle working, supernatural miraculous power, wonderful and mighty in it’s working in and through me!”

Ephesians 1:18-23 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, (21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: (22) And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, (23) Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Confession: Through Christ, my Lord, I can do all things. He strengthens me. I can not be conquered. I can not be defeated. I can do all things through Him
