Summary: I know I should come to God and live right, but I just keep putting it off.

Procrastination

We procrastinate many things…cutting grass…washing clothes.

I know I should come to God and live right, but I just keep putting it off.

Ex 22: 29 “Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of liquors: The firstborn of thy some shalt thou give unto me. Likewise shalt thou do with thy sheep oxen.”

But for too many who want to wait, delay to offer our sacrifice.

Rom 12: 1-2

Not now God, let me finish school.

When grow older-later time-live wild now.

Ecc 12: 1-7

Ecc 11: 9-10

Prov 27: 1 “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”

But for most people it is not that we boast, but that we just don’t want to.

We know we need to but don’t want to.

When someone dies or have a close call with death, we think we need to put life right or do certain things. Then don’t.

Often we are much like Balaam.

Numbers 22: 22-34

Many times we know we shouldn’t do things, but because of our desire we do it anyway.

Likewise often times we know what we should do, but because of weakness (lack of desire) or pull of the world we don’t do it.

God gives us tremendous amount of ideas. Most die on vine for lack of action.

When we see something that we could do for cause of Christ for his church, we should not put off doing it. If we do, it becomes sin.

James 4: 17 “To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him it is sin.”

Luke 9: 57-62

Sure many things God call us to do is not pleasant.

Heb 12: 5-13

Rev 3: 19

Repentance is not pleasant.

Confession is not easy.

Not easy to ask for prayers of the church.

Not easy to admit wrong.

Not easy to say I’m sorry.

Many things are not pleasant.

Just do it, don’t hesitate lest a worse thing happen to us or come upon us.

Like taking bad medicine, swallowing green frogs.

Just do it. If we hesitate, we may never do it.

Our hearts will harden.

We may lose our soul.

Heb 3: 7-19

II Cor 6: 2 “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted and in the day of salvation have I helped thee.”

Is something amiss in your life?

Make it right, now.

Behold, now is the day of salvation.
