Summary: Your sins affect you.

Sin’s Product and Wages

I John 2: 1-2

Gal 6: 7-8

Your sins affect you.

This is a law of God that we cannot escape.

“God is not mocked.”

Consider Law of Gravity

There are social laws and laws of self-esteem.

Also spiritual laws of God.

Sometimes the effect is swift and sometimes it is a long time in coming.

Ecc 8: 11-13

Because sometimes we don’t see the affect of sin in a physical sense or immediately we think we are free, but we aren’t.

Rom 6: 1-2

Gal 6: 7-8

Often we do not realize that our sins still affect us.

Even our forgiven sins affect us.

Consider Adam and Eve—we still fill the affect today.

Cain was a fugitive all his life.

Ham—curse

Eausa

Samson

Moses

David

Rom 6: 23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

What do you make?

Prov 13: 24 “He that spareth the rod hated his son, but he that loveth him chasteneth him promptly.”

Many go commit murder in a range.

May get a pardon, but cannot bring back the dead.

A rapist, molester cannot undo the damage.

John 4: 36 “And he that reapeth receiveth wages and gathereth fruit unto eternal life.”

The same is true of evil or sin.

Gal 6: 7-8

There is no favoritism with God.

Rom 2: 1-11

Acts 10: 34-35

Sin brings on much misery.

Duet 28: 58-68

John 15: 20-35

Prov 13: 15 “The way of transgressors is hard.”

Rom 3: 16 “Destruction and misery are in their ways.”

Sin affects us as Christians even in spiritual ways.

I Tim 4: 2 “…have their conscience seared with a hot iron.”

Burn it over so that sin doesn’t appear or feel like sin.

Don’t experiment with sin!

The man, who doesn’t get caught when he commits adultery, will most likely do it again.

Prov 6: 27-29 “Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.”

Remember David:

II Samuel 12: 10-14

Sin separates us from God and hinders our prayers.

Isiah 59: 1-2

I Peter 3: 7 “Husbands, likewise, swell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.”

Your sin affects others, even into great grand children and further.

Examples: a child born on drugs, Israel wanted a king, child abuse

Ex 20: 5-6 “…I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the fathers to the 3rd & 4th generation of those who hate me, but showing love to thousands who love me and keep my commandments.”

Ez 18: 18-26

Rom 6: 20-23 Fruits of righteousness

Gal 5: 22 Fruit of the spirit

Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness.

Let us sow righteousness in the spirit of God, that we reap good unto eternal life.

Gal 6: 7-8
