Leviticus 26:6 (New King James Version)

I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.

A. Promises of Obedience:

1. Peace in the land

2. Lie down

3. no one will make you afraid

4. Land with no evil beasts

5. Sword will not go through the land.

Five future promises that are offered by the LORD. These are the things we frequently pray for the land.

1. Peace in the land - we bless each other with "shalom shalom" meaning:

a. safe

b. well, happy, friendly

c. welfare, that is, health, prosperity, peace

John 14:27 (Amplified Bible)

Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

Romans 5:1 (Amplified Bible)

THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Philippians 4:7-9 (Amplified Bible)

And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.

2. Lie down - to lie down or "shakab" in Hebrew meaning:

a. for rest

b. for sexual connection

c. for any other purpose

d. lodge, ravish, take rest, sleep, stay

Example of Simon Peter - he knew he will be killed but he's sleeping the other night, fully relaxed.

Acts 12:6 (Amplified Bible)

The very night before Herod was about to bring him forth, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, fastened with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison.

Zephaniah 3:13 (Amplified Bible)

What is left of Israel shall not do iniquity or speak lies, neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they shall feed and lie down and none shall make them afraid.

Proverbs 3:24 (Amplified Bible)

When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

Proverbs 6:22 (Amplified Bible)

When you go, they [the words of your parents’ God] shall lead you; when you sleep, they shall keep you; and when you waken, they shall talk with you.
