Summary: Regardless of what our motives might be, we should keep in mind the end result. That is what's going to show up in our record.
The Bible contains messages for two classes of people: Salvation for the lost, a life of service for the Christian. There are many motives for serving God:
1. Fear. Genesis 22:12
2. Love; 1 John 5:3
3. Duty
4. Show of; Luke 18:9-12
Five things I want to notice about our record.
I. Recorded; Job 16:19
1. The record that the world keeps.
a. Birth and death
b. Doctor and dental
c. Credit and criminal
d. Employment and wages
2. The records God keeps.
b. John 1:19-34
3. God records it all, good and bad.
b. Mark 4:22
II. Remembered; Malachi 3:16
1. It's written down not to be forgotten.
2. It's the basis for our judgment.
3. Memory will be the worst part of a person's record.
a. Luke 16:25
b. A time you could have been saved.
c. Others you have caused to go to hell.
III. Revealing; 1 Corinthians 3:11-15
1. Good works
a. Good deeds; Matthew 10:42
b. Giving; Luke 21:1-4
c. Souls saved; Proverbs 11:30
2. Faults and failures
a. Fail to reach a certain person.
1) Jail
2) On visitation
b. Make a mess out of trying to witness to certain people.
3. Opportunities I let go by.
a. Drive or help on a bus
b. Help around the building
c. Teach a Sunday school class.
d. Any other thing the Lord has called me to do.
IV. Rewarding; Matthew 16:27
1. Crown of life.
a. Martyrs crown
b. James 1:12
2. Crown of glory.
a. Pastor’s crown
3. Crown of rejoicing
a. Soul winners crown
4. Crown of incorruptible
a. Victor’s crown
c. 1 John 2:28
5. Crown of righteousness
a. Love His appearing
V. Remitted
1. Forgiven
2. This is the only record that I know where you can blot out the bad part.

b. By forsaking
