Summary: A sermon inspired by a song.

Song-Remember Me by Brook Benton (YouTube)

Luke 23:39-43-Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”

But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?

And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.”

Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”

And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Luke 23:35-36-And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”

The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine,

and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.”

Satan knows if he can convince Jesus to save Himself, He wouldn’t be able to save others, because it was Him dying on the cross, it was Him sacrificing His life for ours, it was Him who knew no sin, taking the penalty of sin upon Himself, that paid the price for our sins!

Matthew 1:21-Will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Satan is doing everything he can to get Jesus off that cross (Maybe he had a Ah-moment, he thought maybe putting Jesus to death is a bad idea!)

Once again we are confront again with where things come from, the source, (Just like last week about the excuses people used, where did those come from?….Satan).

Someone ever say something to you that was negative, hurtful, spiteful, mean-spirited, and you wonder where did that come from?

I guarantee you that the source was Satan!

When the other thief spoke to Jesus never did answer him, ( “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” ) but when this thief said, ( “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” ) He spoke to him.

If you are really seeking Him, if your really looking for answer, God will reveal Himself to you, not only that, He will give a promise, He will give you hope!

We got to cry out, to God, so many times we seek the answer somewhere else, we look for some other option, then and as a last resort we cry out to God!

Jesus should not be the last resort, He should be the first resort!

Genesis 40:23-Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

People may forget about you but God has not!

REMEMBER ME:

He’s not forgotten in your trials!

He’s not forgotten you in your troubles!

He has not forgotten you in the perplexes of life!

He’s not forgotten you in your sorrows!

He’s not forgotten you in your loneliness!

YOU ARE HERE FOR A REASON TODAY…CAN YOU HEAR HIM?

CAN YOU FEEL HIM?

He said today you will be with me in paradise…Not tomorrow, Not next week, Not next month…Today!

You-Salvation is always personal, and is individual.

It is a permanent promise – “With Me”

When Oswald Chambers died, his family sent a telegram to his friends. The telegram consisted of four words, “Oswald in His presence.”

Face to Face

Face to face with Christ, my Savior,

Face to face; what will it be

When with rapture I behold Him

Jesus Christ who die for me!
