In God’s infinite wisdom, as he created the human man, He made many distinctive choices.

He gave us 5 senses: Hearing, seeing, tasting, smelling and touching. He gave us eyes to see his beautiful creation. Ears to listen and help comprehend; A nose to smell the beautiful flowers and wonderful fragrances; Taste buds to taste the finer things of life; And touching to embrace and touch - To hug a mother and feel her embrace. But greater then all the senses, God gave us something that is more important than any of the 5 senses: He gave us a memory.

You see feeling, or seeing, or tasting, or smelling things are wonderful, but what good are they if we can’t remember them?

· When loved ones we care about pass on, it is our memory that keeps them alive in our hearts.

· We can remember their smile, their embrace, their aftershave, and their laugh.

· It would be terrible to wake up in the morning and have no recollection of the previous day. MEN ARE ACCUSED OF THIS ALL THE TIME.

· You couldn’t work, how could you remember how to get there. If you did get to work how would you get home?

· There would be no wisdom. Wisdom comes from experience, past failures, learning from your mistakes.

The Bible does however tell us that something’s have no memory. When you are saved and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, the Bible says those sins are blotted out and cast into the sea of forgetfulness, NEVER TO BE REMEMBERED! Scattered as far as the East is fro m the West. THEY are FORGOTTEN!

· God doesn’t bring up your past, Satan does. You have no past with God. God forgets, Christian’s remember. (When someone seats in Sis. Hoop-n-dittle’s seat, or Bro. C-ME, Squeeze ME critized her lumpy mash potatoes @ Homecoming in 1984).

The prodicle son. Left the comfort of his father, left the security of home, his feather bed and pillows, his fine clothes and fancy silverware. All the luxuries of life and found himself wollering around in the mud with pigs. Mixing with pig’s dung. His friends were nowhere to be found. He was broke.

· The best part of the story is not the son returning to his father and him waiting for him at the end of the drive. Or the feast that was prepared for the wondering son that had returned.

· The best part is that while he was in that situation, wollering in the mudd, eating pig’s scraps….. He remembered He said my father’s servants have it better then this.

· The father waiting symbolizes our heavenly Father standing and waiting on the wondering child. He longs for your return. Everyday he peeks thru the curtain and looks down the road waiting for your return.

· He sees the empty place at the table and the silverware set where you once set.

· He passes by your bedroom door and longs to see you and wishes he could tuck you in.

· The difference is the protical father had no clue when his son would return. He watched everyday. God knows you and exactly where you are. He even ordained you to be here today and hear this message. He longs to have an encounter with you. The key is to remember.
