He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, 'Stretch out your hand.' He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. - Mark 3:5

We see clearly from this story of Jesus healing the crippled hand that God's heart is to restore and heal. That crippled man was in the presence of religious people weekly in the synagogue. He heard the best bible teachings and bible verses. He was encouraged to keep all the rules of keeping the sabbath. But in the end he was hurting, wounded and had a crippled hand, which was a picture of his heart condition. The religious leaders were happy to allow him to stay bound with this problem as long as he kept their man-made rules.

Is it not the same today where many religious churches are happy to keep people bound as long as they follow the traditions and rules. In the end these religious type leaders are more happy to have an appearance of a good church but not caring for the people to be free in their hearts. Our Lord is the opposite where he says he has come to set men free. Jesus even had anger toward this religious type of hypocrisy. Do we want to see men free? Do we care more for the favour of religious men? Reach out and restore someone today, reach out to the lowest caste, the despised and be Jesus to them.
