When I was a young-un my Dad ‘had me’ join the local little-league team.
It wasn’t a ‘knock-down drag-out fight to get me on the team, but I do remember being apprehensive!
I was really a lousy player & usually did not make contact with the ball.
But I can remember only one good hit that I got. I hammered a pop fly way out to center field, & right into the glove of the center-fielder! I felt like I had made a home run!
By the time I had gotten between first & second base, I found out the ball had been caught!
I was in the same funk as if I had struck out!
I did not enjoy Little League. For me it was a testimony to my ineptness & lack of self-esteem which dogged me at that age.
By the time the season was over I asked Daddy if it would be okay if I didn’t sign-up for next season.
My salvation was realized! And I never regretted it!
Safe passage was realized/experienced/fulfilled for all on the ark.
All on the ark escaped/were saved from the Flood’s destruction.
Salvation was realized by those favored by God.
How/When is salvation by God accomplished/realized?
3 ways salvation by God is realized.
1—Salvation is realized when & how...
:1—“Then God remembered Noah, & every living thing, & all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, & the waters subsided.”
“Then God remembered Noah, & every living thing, & all the animals that were with him in the ark.”
Had God forgotten about Noah? No. However from man’s perspective there had been no (logged)communication from/with God since He had ushered them onto the ark & closed the door, until the time God first acted to remove the water.
God does not ‘forget’ like you & I do...
Example: Just this past week, I was having a conversation with Mary L. in the back hallway. I was replying to her statement & completely forgot the point of the conversation, & thus the point I was driving at. I looked to the ground & my speech sort of faded off because I forgot where I was going. I finally admitted I had lost my train of thought. Mary interjected just a word about the topic & that triggered my remembrance. Then I immediately realized my point & made it...God NEVER has that problem!!
God not only “remembered” Noah but He was also concerned for “every living thing” that was “with” Noah on the ark. God’s concern for all in the ark was aroused because the time(which He had set) for the event’s fulfillment had arrived.
Upon God’s taking new notice of those on the ark, He now causes “a wind” to blow “over the earth.” God caused this “wind” & used this “wind” to be instrumental in causing the waters to “subside.” This no doubt echoes the work of the Spirit of God in Gen. 1:2!
God is Master of all His creation...
Mk. 4:36-41—“Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, & the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him & said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose & rebuked the wind, & said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased & there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, & said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind & the sea obey Him!””
On another occasion...
Mat. 14:22-33—“Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat & go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him & said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; & beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand & caught him, & said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came & worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
