VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. This world trust men and their numbers

"WOE TO those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses and trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong,"

Egypt symbolizes the world and it's creatures.

Unbelievers trust in other people which brings them to more doom.

Isaiah 36:6 (Amplified Bible)

36:6 Behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised and broken reed, Egypt, which will pierce the hand of any man who leans on it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust and rely on him.

Unbelievers trust in their god or idol but have degraded or debased themselves. You are nothing apart from the LORD, how much more if you trust an idol that is nothing in this world.

Isaiah 57:9 (Amplified Bible)

57:9 And you went to the king [of foreign lands with gifts] or to Molech [the god] with oil and increased your perfumes and ointments; you sent your messengers far off and debased yourself even to Sheol (Hades) [symbol of an abysmal depth of degradation].

1 Corinthians 8:4 (Amplified Bible)

8:4 In this matter, then, of eating food offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing (has no real existence) and that there is no God but one.

Unbelievers trust in other strong and influential men opening them to more curses. Nothing + nothing = nothing nothing.

Jeremiah 17:5-7 (Amplified Bible)

17:5 Thus says the Lord: Cursed [with great evil] is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man, making weak [human] flesh his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord.

17:6 For he shall be like a shrub or a person naked and destitute in the desert; and he shall not see any good come, but shall dwell in the parched places in the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

17:7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.

But our help is from the LORD. One company owner said "it's best to depend on yourself for everything to do the work.." But I say if you depend on yourself, or in other people or in this world for your power, wisdom and resources then woe to you, you are already cursed. Only depend, trust, consult, have faith in the LORD and never unto arm of flesh for indeed GOD, the LORD JESUS is our Author and Finisher of our faith.

B. Seek and consult the LORD

"but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek and consult the Lord!"

Psalms 62:7 (Amplified Bible)

62:7 With God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God!

Psalms 123:2 (Amplified Bible)

123:2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, and as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy and loving-kindness for us.

We only look to the huge infinite hand of the LORD GOD , that is JESUS CHRIST, to provide for us, because we believe He is both the Provided and the provided, the Blessor and the blessing of the LORD that made us rich.

Psalms 52:7-8 (Amplified Bible)

52:7 See, this is the man who made not God his strength (his stronghold and high tower) but trusted in and confidently relied on the abundance of his riches, seeking refuge and security for himself through his wickedness.
