  • The Road To A Double Anointing

Contributed by John Gaston on Apr 2, 2017
    based on 3 ratings

Elijah & Elisha visited 4 places: Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho and the Jordan. Each one is highly significant in Israel’s history and I believe they are symbolic of key growth stages in Christ. Elisha had to complete each stage to gain the double anointing!

THE ROAD TO A DOUBLE ANOINTING 2 Kings 2:1-15 INTRODUCTION A. HUMOR 1. JOKE 1: A Sunday school teacher was teaching on the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar, put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces and laid it upon the altar. ...read more

This message explores the impartation of the blessing of God from one person to another as part of the hastening of God’s work.

We have been looking at the person, the ministry, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and what that means for those who have made a decision, and commitment to walk with God. Today’s message is a bit of a departure from our most recent series. Yet, at the same time, it naturally flows from what we ...read more

There is a place in the spirit that has been prepared for every child of God, but few will make the journey into the miraculous.

This is the word of the Lord that I heard. "Journey to the miraculous." Ok Lets look at our text: 2 Kings 2:1-15 KJVS [1] And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. [2] And Elijah said ...read more

EMBRACING GOD’S CALL 1 Kings 19:19-21; 2 Kings 2:1-25 What will you do with your life? That’s a mind-blowing question. As a graduating senior, it is like a freight train coming at you in a tunnel. Don’t fret, though, because it’s good practice for you. It seems I’ve spent most of my life in ...read more

  • The Mantle I Series

    based on 4 ratings

Luke in his account of the Ascension draws the listener to remember the story of Elijah’s Ascension. Pentecost is the day the church received the Mantle of the Spirit as Elisha received Elijah’s Mantle.

The Mantle I (Copyright: Rev. Bill Versteeg 2008) The disciples had been arrested by miracles. First there was the crucifixion, an offering offered in righteousness and purity, even the Roman Centurion had to admit that this crucified one was “the Son of God.” But many doubted. Thomas, one ...read more

For Elisha to have the ’double-portion’ he desired there was a clear path to follow. There was a preparation to be made, a pryaer to be offered, a promise to be claimed, and the possession of the answer. What a challenge for us today!

ELISHA SEEKS THE BLESSING THE PATH TO THE DOUBLE-PORTION II Kings 2:1-15 Elisha had travelled with Elijah for a relatively short time, and had seen how the Lord had miraculously worked through Elijah. This must have inspired him to want the same anointing himself, but before Elisha could ...read more

God will remove certain individuals from earth just as they are alive and well and He will take them up or to Heaven for some undisclosed purpose. These abductees are still human but not eternal and God will use them at a later date.

Taken Away 2 Kings 2:5-17 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 The title of today’s message may be one that some of you have a hard time putting into context. By taken away I do not mean that my wife has called Tom Millard’s co-workers to come and pick me up and take me away to that ...read more

Before most of us can transition, shift, move or be promoted to another dimension in someone else’s spot, someone has to be placed in a more superior rank than those that are waiting to be promoted or someone has to die.
