  • Having Power With God

Contributed by Jerry Flury on Mar 28, 2012
    based on 11 ratings

Most spend their lives living nominal Christian lives with little or no power. If you and I desire to be more than mundane believers and to have power with God I believe we need to have four key elements – humility, faith, perseverance, and holiness.

Having Power with God Genesis 32:22-30 Jacob spent a night encountering God. At the end of that night his name was changed from “Jacob” which means “supplanter”, “heel catcher”, or “deceiver” to Israel meaning “having power with God”. Jacob was changed. No longer was he going to live his way. more

  • Jabbok A Place Of Total Surrender

Contributed by Gregory Mc Donald on Feb 10, 2010
    based on 17 ratings

There is a great spiritual lesson in this because God wants us to seek our safety in complete surrender to His power and love. It is when we reach one hand to Him, while we keep holding on to the things of the world with the other, that we are in danger.

JABBOK A PLACE OF TOTAL SURRENDER GENESIS 32:22 30 Last night I was sitting on my porch, on my new porch swing, and I was watching several birds sitting on the wire that carries the electrical power to my house. They were perched there without a care in the world. But I knew that if I more

A Christmas Eve sermon describing the great and varied attributes of our Savior!

Names are an interesting phenomenon. We have last names, and first names, and many of us even have middle names. • Radical Prayer Series

Contributed by Paul Green on Jul 13, 2009
    based on 58 ratings

Many prayers of God’s people are weak, empty, passion-less, and vision-less. If we are going to see God move, if we are going to see God at work, if we are going to see situations turned around and lives dramatically changed by the mighty hand of God the

Walnut Prayers There was once a man who was very faithful in his prayer life. Every morning when he got up he would kneel by his bed and he would pray, ‘God bless me, God bless my family, God bless this day’. And before every meal he would say a prayer ‘God bless this food’. And every night more

  • Walk With A Limp, Hands Up Who's Perfect?

Contributed by Richard Francis on May 10, 2009
    based on 14 ratings

When you encounter God do not expect to walk away the same, pray to walk with a limp as Jacob did and live in the promise and purpose God has for your life

What is it with God? It never ceases to amaze me the type of people God uses for great purpose I would have expected the most gifted, handsome, athletic, warrior, intellectual and generally those that reflected his perfection to project that “Look at me I’m right with God” persona to make us all more

  • Jacob's Night Of Change

Contributed by Rodney Burton on Jan 29, 2009
    based on 38 ratings

Jacob found himself in a tough spot and alone when the Angel of the Lord came and wrestled with him. Are we willing to put ourselves in a position for an encounter with God?

n Jacob was a man who had always done things his way and he was the kind of person who wanted to be in charge and know how things were going to play out. n How many times do we get in that same place with God? We know what we are used to and we know what we expect and don’t want to see that more
