When Israel cried out to the Lord for help, a prophet was sent to remind them of their idolatry. Then the Angel of the Lord, whom we believe to be the reincarnate Christ, appeared to a man of Manasseh named Gideon.
Chapter 19: An Angel Sends Gideon to Deliver Them
11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon (Gr. Gedeon) threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
