2 Timothy 1:1-14

Introduction:

2 Timothy 1:1-14

1. Paul’s 2nd letter to Timothy is of a personal nature.

2. This letter speaks of being a faithful servant.

3. We will look at 2 service goals and barriers in our text this morning.

Goal #1

2 Timothy 1:3-7

1. The Goal: Serve God with a clear conscience.

2. Your Reach: “Fan into flame the gift of God.” God’s Reach: “A spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.”

3. The Barriers: Self.

Goal #2

2 Timothy 1:8-14

1. The Goal: Serve God without being ashamed.

2. Your Reach: Suffer for the Gospel. God’s Reach: The giver of salvation through Jesus Christ.

3. The Barriers: The world.

Conclusion:

1. The result of serving God with a clear conscience and not being ashamed is effectiveness.

2. God asks us to be available. He asks us to serve Him to the best of our ability; knowing that He is the One who makes us effective.

3. If you are here without Christ as Savior, there will come a day when time will be up. Find new life in Christ today before it is too late.
