Summary: PROPOSITION: To motivate the hearer to seek a fresh moving of God in his life.
REVIVE [Heb chayah, khaw-yaw’]: a prim. root; to live; keep or make alive; give or promise life; recover, repair, or restore to life.
I. A REAL REVIVAL WILL MOTIVATE YOU IN YOUR PRAYER LIFE
Application: Prayerlessness will eventually cost you your relationship with God.
Psalms 32:3 (quickview) ,4 When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was turned into the drought of summer.
Application: The Psalmist is writing about a point in time when he cut himself off from communication with God. His reason for doing so was his refusal to repent of an adulterous affair. What keeps you from talking to God? Eventually the Psalmist did repent, come back, and opened the lines of communication with God:
Psalms 32:5-6 (quickview)  I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You In a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters They shall not come near him.
II. A REAL REVIVAL WILL GIVE YOU A HUNGER FOR GOD’S WORD
Psalms 143:10 (quickview) ,11 Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Revive me, O LORD, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
Application: God’s Word is the believer’s only source of soul nourishment. It is the only means by which a person can live holy life.
Psalms 119:9-11 (quickview)  How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!
III. A REAL REVIVAL WILL RESTORE THE LIVING WATER’S FLOW IN YOUR LIFE
Application: God never intended for you spiritual life to be dry and uneventful.
Isaiah 35:3 (quickview) ,5-7a Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. 5.Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6.Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. 7a.The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water;
