Seven Ways To Better Glorify God

GLORIFY GOD BY FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIM

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. 1 John 3:1

We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Moses asked God:

Show me thy way that I may know thee.

I beseech thee, show me thy glory.

GLORIFY GOD BY FOLLOWING HIM

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21

There is an old saying, “The proof is in the pudding.”

God has proved his love for us.

Our proof of love for Him comes in the fruit that we bear for him.

GLORIFY GOD BY LETTING YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Too many people are hiding their light under a bushel basket because they are afraid of what others might say about them.

When you are in the dark and the light comes on, it can be hard to bear. But if you accept it, it becomes easier to handle.

GLORIFY GOD BY TALKING ABOUT HIM

People at work know I love my wife, because I talk about her.

People at work know I love my daughter, because I tell cute stories about her.

People at work know I don’t care for cats because…well, I won’t go there!

When you fall in love with God, you will talk about Him at work, at school, and everywhere you go.

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. Mark 8:38

GLORIFYT GOD BY GLORIFYING HIM

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. Psalm 8:1

Glory and majesty belong to God.

We are not to bring glory, attention or majesty to ourselves.

We are to avoid thing that are self centered and indulgent

We should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Titus 2:12

GLORIFY GOD BY EVANGELISM

Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23

Those who fail to evangelize are not able to live for God’s glory and will experience His wrath and punishment at the Judgment Seat when we are judged for our works.

GLORIFY GOD BY WORSHIP

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 4:23

True worship occurs regularly.

True worship happens when people freely offer gratitude and allegiance to God Almighty.

CLOSING

God’s glory is His reputation. To live for God’s glory means to live so that God’s reputation is enhanced and not diminished in any way. Just as we cannot darken the sun we cannot decrease God’s glory. But through poor choices, we can cast a bad shadow on His glory and greatness.
