Simple Salvation

Summary: It's the goodness of God that draws people to Him. Not the madness of God, the anger of God or the disapproval of God.
INTRODUCTION
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

I. ACCEPTING JESUS CHRIST IS NOT HARD
A. We open the door to God
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
B. Like receiving a drink of water
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

II. DIFFERENT WAYS PEOPLE GOT SAVED IN THE BIBLE
o 2 Corinthians 11:3 ESV But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

1. Our sins are washed away when we call on His name!
1. We are saved BY Grace THROUGH Faith.
2. Salvation is God's gift to lost humanity.

3. V.13 - Whoever calls on His name will be saved!
III. OUR RESPONSIBILITIES.
o Philippians 2:12 "…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
A. WE have to go through the door. No one can go through it for you!
4. Don't overthink this verse. It basically means that I can't live your life for you and you can't live your life for me.
B. WE have to choose life or death
19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,
20 loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them."
C. WE need to choose a place to be taught and trained as a disciple.
1. Find a good Church and commit there.
2. Learn God's Word and put it into practice every day of your life.
CLOSING: WHOEVER BELIEVES! - JOHN 3:16-18
o Salvation is centered around faith in Christ.
