Rick Boyne

Message Point: Contrary to popular culture, there are indeed consequences for your actions.

Focus Passage: Matthew 10:28

Introduction: If you are headed to Hell, I'm not gonna let you feel good about it. No one wants to talk about the hard stuff. Well, the hard stuff is REAL! If you are bound and determine to lead a life that will lead you to Hell, you will not expect to get past me without a warning!

I. Sin

a. For the unbeliever, sin is all you know; there is no escape. There is no recourse.

b. For the believer, sin is kept at bay by the power of the Holy Spirit

c. No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 NASB)

d. Sin is not a pet to be tamed, but a wild beast to be destroyed

II. Death

a. Unbelievers need fear death, for after that comes the Judgment

b. Believers need not fear death, for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

c. For believers, death is “graduation” or “homegoing”.

III. Hell

a. For unbelievers, a certain destiny.

b. For believers, once in Heaven, we’ll never give Hell another thought.

c. For Believers, life on Earth is the only taste of Hell we’ll ever have. For unbelievers, life on Earth is the only taste of Heaven they will ever have.
