Summary: No man can remove sin only God.

SINS LEAVE STAINS

Jeremiah 2: 22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.

23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

(1) Stains the life of men.

People see the stains both internal and external.

Your stains are black not natural.

These are stains of evil things.

(2) Man cannot wash the guilt.

He may try with nitre are soap.

The mark is before God.

No man can wash them only God.

The character of sin is there to stay

(3) They try to cover up.

Make good resolves.

Try to attend services all the time .

Have religious feelings.

Tears all types of emotion.

Even self-inflicted punishment.

(4) There is no way.

Sin can not be undone.

Sin can not be hid.

Sin will not be excused.

Future goodness will not atone the past.

(5) There are means to remove sin.

It will remove the guilt and character of all sin.

Psalms 51:10 - Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

James 5:16 - Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

(6) Here is the only way.

Ephesians 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 10:10 - For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Isaiah 53:5 - But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 3:21 - The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
