Smartness Secures Success Series

Summary: Welcome to the year 2020. As we begin this year, the most important thing that can guarantee our success is getting and operating in the wisdom of God.
Subject of Wisdom
Exo. 31:2-5; 35:30-31; 36:1; 1 Kings 7:13-14; Prov. 1:1-7; 24:3-4; Isa. 11:2
Knowledge: Hebrew word is “daath” and Greek word is “epignosis.” The ability “to mark and observe with a purpose.” The gathering of facts or information through education and experience in life (Prov. 18:15; Col. 2:8).
Understanding: Hebrew word is “tebunah” and Greek word is “sunesis.” The ability “to separate” or “to distinguish.” The extraction of meaning out of facts or information (Ps. 119:130).
Wisdom: Hebrew word is “chokmah” and Greek word is “Sophia.” The ability to act based on an understanding gained from an acquired knowledge (Ecc. 8:1). Knowing what to do next based on the understanding of the fact.

? Age does not dictate the level of wisdom: Prov. 30:24; Heb. 5:12; 1 Sam. 17:11-14,28-42

Success through Wisdom
Creativity: Ps. 104:24; Prov. 3:19; 8:22-31
Calculative: Joshua 8:1-8; Ecc. 9:13-16; Judges 20:16; Gen. 49:27; 1 Sam. 17:4-7,32-37,40,49-50
Engage in strategic planning and action; involve the division of labor, coordinated attack, and partnership for winning.
Concretive: Matt. 7:24
Wisdom makes a person builds on solid rock – Jesus Christ: on honesty and holiness

Benefits of having wisdom include
Preservation: Prov. 4:6; Ecc. 7:12
Promotion: Prov. 4:8
Polishing: Prov. 4:9; Ecc. 8:1
Perceiving: 1 Kings 3:16-28
Sources of Wisdom
Scripture: 2 Tim. 3:15; Ps. 19:7; 119:130
A wife builds her house through wisdom obtained from the understanding of the Scriptures that talk about submission and meekness (Prov. 14:1; 1 Pet. 3:1-6; Ps. 37:11).
Action step: Pray for divine enlightenment as you study the Scripture (Prov. 20:27; Eph. 1:18; Lk. 4:18-21).

Note: Two types of wisdom: Jer. 9:23-24; James 3:13-17
Worldly: earthly, sensual, devilish (James 3:14-16).
Divine: pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17-16).
