So Then, Why Do We Still Sin?
Correct preaching in our churches should have people believe that they can do whatever they want and still be saved.
V2 Sin has power if we think it does, like the former master of a freed slave.
Col 1:15; Phil 3:20; Eph 2:19
Died to sin - past tense, has already happened not ought to die to sin. It is not a process.
This once verse in Paul’s complete answer now he explains it.
V3 You should know this.
Col. 2:10 this makes me complete with Christ.
V4 Buried is the proof of death. You don’t bury live people.

No person can consistently behave in a manner that is inconsistent with the way he perceives himself.
The essence of the victorious Christian life is to believe what is already now true of you.

Why? 1. Body of sin might might be done away with.
Body of sin - the bones where sin can sill control.
2. No longer slaves of sin
Man is always a slave; of sin or God.
V7-14
V7 Are you freed from sin?
V11 reckon - logizesthe - true regardless if one believes it or not.
V11 yourself or spirit is dead to sin but your earth suit is not free.
V12 So don’t let the earth suit reign.
The earthsuit finds life here and now so it lusts for life.

Paul clearly separates yourself from your members.
You are not free from righteousness but free to righteousness.
V15-23
V15 Two kinds of people:
1. Those who need the law.
2. Those who are lawless in behavior.
V16 Who you are presented to begins to control you.
V17 But God...
A slave has no choice, he must obey.
V18 You now must be righteous.
We reveal who our master is by what we do: John 13:34-35; Matt 7:15-16, 23.
V19 The body is not evil in and of itself but can be used for evil or rightousness.
V20 What hope does the unsaved have to be righteous? None.
V22 No choice, we will produce holiness from the inner man.
V23 Sin is just a giant credit card, pay now or pay later.
