7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
a. Fake peace vs. genuine peace - genuine peace - tested in turmoil
3. GOD's knowledge - more and more
a. As we come to know Him more and more
b. Paul's example (Philippians 3:10)
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death
Together with Paul (1 Corinthians 11:1) - Follow me as I follow CHRIST.
And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
