Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. - John 15:4

When we consider Christianity it must always be realized that it is about a personal relationship with the God of the universe. It is not doing as much as being. It is about speaking with the Lord and not only being busy doing things in his name. One of the hardest things for human beings is to rest and be still. We are active by nature and desire to build and do things. Our Lord gives us the clear command to remain in him. Not in a dogma, doctrine or ideology but to remain in him as a person.

Do you have that vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ today? Are you spending time with him? He longs for us to sit at his feet and allow our time to be spent abiding and remaining with him. There are times to be very busy doing the work of God and in the end we are to bear much fruit. But this will never happen apart from prayer and time with the Lord of the work. As we spend this time with the Lord you will watch and see great fruit growing out of your life! Try it and see what wonderful things the Lord will do in and through you as you spend more time abiding with him.
