Summary: The question becomes one of what will control your mind. Will your spirit be linked to the mind of Christ and bring glory to God, or will you become carnally minded and let your body controls your thoughts which cannot please God?

Spiritual Minded

Romans 8:5-6

Elder Clarence E. Weaver Sr

“(5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh ; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit (6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:5-6).

So many children of God get caught up in unhealthy relationship ignited by the fire of hell conversation such as gossip, and other with bitter words. It creates a viral infection of destruction of one’s character and your witness in God. You will find yourself at the crossroad of life and death. God is not the author of confusion. As a child of God, we are not to entertain or add fuel to the fire of confusion. Too many people have a competitive spirit of winning every argument. For all that are in the flesh seek their own agenda, but not the things which are in Christ Jesus. The soul or mind is lodged between the spirit and flesh. The question becomes one of what will control your mind. Will your spirit be linked to the mind of Christ and bring glory to God, or will you become carnally minded and let your body controls your thoughts which cannot please God?

Most people think living in the flesh is identical with committing obvious sins. But in reality my brothers and sisters, if you give priority to the things of the material realm simple means you to live in carnality. Rather than trying to win every argument, let the Lord fight your battle put on the mind of Christ, and allow the Holy Spirit give you the words to edify others and bring glory to God.

When you hear gossip, pray silently in the Spirit to keep your tongue from becoming busy lest you’ll join in the hellish discussion. Let is a word that will challenge you to submit. Therefore let Christ’s Mind be in you.

“(7) Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. (8) Cleanse your hands ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded” (James 4:7-8).
