Spiritual Stimulus Package for Believers

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

A stimulus is a detectable change in the internal or external environment. When applied, it elicits or influences a reflex or change, or movement. We are all eagerly awaiting the stimulus package our new president and congress are working on. We look forward with great anticipation in hopes that it will stimulate the economy and get it going again, before too many people are hurt and devastated by lay offs, lost of jobs, homes, health care, etc.

Our politicians are fighting back and forth over how to stimulate the economy in the right way. Some want tax breaks, some want spending on new projects, some want to just stuff their pockets and are not concerned about the people. No body knows for sure how much to spend or tax, it all seems to be guess work. We have never seen anything like this in our life time before.

Just like our economy and financial markets are broken and need a stimulus package to get them going, our spiritual lives can also be stagnate and in need of a stimulus to get them going.

God has given us a plan for stimulating our lives and getting them back on track. We do not need to figure it out, guess at it, or argue about how to make it happen. It is tested, proven and guaranteed to work!

In Paul’s letter to the Corinthians he tells us..

My Brothers and Sister we are stimulated by the WORD of GOD!

The first step to stimulating our spiritual lives is to make sure we are in Christ and Christ is in us. We know that the gospel writer John has shared with us in the

John 1:1-51

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The way to get Christ in us is to get the Word of God in us! We can read it! We can hear it! We can study it! We can sing it! we can rap it! Any how, any way you can get the Word of God inside of your head, your heart, your mind, it will bless your life! It will stimulate your head, heart and mind! The power is in the word! Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world! Stimulate your lives with the Word of GOD!

Paul says I am a new creature…
